Luna's POV
"Luna."
Someone said, the voice seeming very far away.
"Luna."
There it was again, clearer this time. Somehow in the shadow of this nightmare I could hear it.
"Luna!"
I woke up with a start, and sat up quickly. I was still in my cave room in the valley were Stardust lives. The little hole window let in the slightest dawn light, it had to be pretty early in the morning. But usually I would be up at this time. Actually way before this time.
Stardust was standing next to my bed, looking at me with a glare that reflected a hint of worry before it was gone in a flash. Her arms were crossed over her chest and I could hear her foot tapping impatiently.
"I've been trying to get you up for the past five minutes! I figured breakfast would rot away before you came to the dining cave," she snapped. Her face then softened. "Come on, before it really does rot."
With that she left, before I could even say a thing. I sighed and got ready quickly.
Stardust was a lot more bearable now, yet every now and then she would snap at me. But then she would be okay in the next moment. We had gotten closer, yet I still felt like I am being left in the dark. And I was. There were still things that Stardust wasn't telling me, but then again, there was also things I wasn't telling her.
I start to walk through the tunnels to the dining cave. It was only yesterday I had realized that I had been here for a little over a week, and in that short amount of time, I memorized where most of the tunnels lead. There were a few that I haven't traveled down, but that was because Stardust told me not to. And as curious as I am, I would rather not get on Stardust's bad side, again.
By the time I reached the cave, Stardust was done. She seemed more patient with me as she sipped her tea.
I sat down and started to eat the bowl of fruit. This was pretty normal food here. I realized a while ago that Stardust is either a vegetarian or doesn't like to hunt.
"Sleep well?" She asked me when I was about finished.
"Yeah," I say, trying my best to sound convincing. I think she was starting to realize that I haven't been sleeping well.
"Tell me the truth."
"I am."
"No you aren't. You know I can tell too, so you might as well admit it."
I sigh and look up at her. "I haven't been sleeping well this entire week."
"Why?"
I looked away slowly, studying one of the lamps, watching the flame dance around in the glass. I have been having nightmares, again. I'm sure she already figured that, but I don't know if I should explain them.
"Nightmares," I say, hoping that she won't press on for any more information.
And she did, "About what? It's more than the normal ones, isn't it?"
I looked back at her and try to see her emotions, but she was emotionless as Shadow at most times. It was always weird how she could basically tell everything about me without having to ask. It wouldn't surprise me if she already knew what my nightmares were about.
But I sigh and explain them out loud to her anyways.
"When I had those visions in the moon cave, I saw my reflection as the demon inside me. I saw there was a good half too, and at first I felt okay about it. But then I started to think about it, and it scared me a lot seeing that side of me again in plain sight like that. I didn't even realized it scared me that much.
