Luna's POV
It was dark. The water consumed me, like a big gaping mouth leading to nowhere. I was alone here, I lost hold of Tails' hand a long time ago. Every so often, my head would puncture the surface, and I'd breath in a watery breath before plunging back under with the thought of having to hold that breath until I had another chance at the surface.
But this time it never came.
My lungs couldn't take it anymore. My head felt light, and little sparks started to dot my blurry vision. And that's when I saw the bubbles, leaving me. My last bits of air. Water tried to fill my lungs, but I tried to hold it back.
After all I've done, I couldn't stand in the rain. It just swept me off my feet and buried me in a watery grave. Why... why was I so dumb?
Someone seemed to be swimming towards me. Was it my mom?
It was the last thing I saw before everything blurred to black.
Stardust's POV
The thunder woke me up. I jumped up off my little spot on the first floor. It must had been raining earlier, because I was soaking wet. And as if it heard me, it began to rain again.
Then, I heard a scream. And a lot of water.
Luna.
Every part of my being yelled at me to run away, but I pressed onward in the rain. Sunny said I had limited time, and I seriously hoped I still wasn't too late. As I walked over a rise, I realized, I may just be.
Maybe twenty feet below me everything was covered in water like a huge river. But it wasn't a river, there were trees and debris poking out of the water.
A flash flood?
I surveyed the water. There seemed to be no life in it, until I noticed a silver flash peak out of the water for a moment before it plummeted back below into the dark waters. It had to be Luna.
The little overhang I was on steadily sloped down along the water. I began to run parallel to the water, searching for the silver bob to pop back up. It did once more before it went back under.
I ran in pace, hoping she would pop back up again to call her over to me, but she never did. I almost began to panic, I couldn't let her die, not like this. But, calming my nerves, I took a deep breath, and held my open palm before me. I knew this spell would clear up the water for me to see, and it did. It only took me a moment to spot Luna, sinking deeper and deeper into the water. I didn't hesitate, I plunged right in. The current began to drag me, but thankfully it was helping me get closer to Luna. The seconds ticked in my head as if they were a countdown to a bomb. Only the bomb was Luna's life.
I dove deeper into the water. She seemed to still be alive, but her eye lids were fluttering shut and bubbles escaped from her mouth. There was no effort on her part, and it made me worried. Sunny said I had to hurry, but I didn't think she meant it would happen this fast. I grabbed on to her as if giving her a hug, and kicked off the bottom with my feet. My lungs were already screaming for air, I'm sure Luna's were dying for it.
It was only sprinkling as I drug Luna out of the water. I only pulled her out far enough so that we wouldn't slip back in. She was in need of medical attention fast, and I wasn't a medic.
