Chapter 32

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO 

Today's the day.

The project will officially start today. I was shocked when Iñigo texted me that all of the materials were completed in one day! Masyado raw kasing sineseryoso ng "ex" ko 'tong project na 'to. Iñigo won't really stop teasing me about Kael being my ex. Hindi pa rin daw siya makapaniwala na ang liit-liit ng mundo at nagkita uli kami. How I wish destiny play a trick on Iñigo and make him meet his first love again.

"You're coming today?" I asked Darren. I am currently drying my hair and Darren suddenly called. Akala ko hindi pa siya pupunta, 'kala ko bukas pa dahil ang sabi niya sa akin ay may importante raw siyang lakad pero na-cancel naman daw 'yon. Hindi ko naman alam kung anong lakad 'yon pero mukhang hindi naman na raw matutuloy.

[Why? You don't want to see me?] He asked and I laughed. [Ouch, my wife doesn't want to see me.]

"You have no idea how much I want to see you. Wala akong matinong kausap dito," I said and shook my head. As if he's going to see me shaking my head. I really want to see him! These past few days, wala talaga akong makausap nang matino. Si Kate ay aasarin ako dahil sa nangyari sa office, si Kael naman ay naging ilang o umiiwas sa 'kin matapos noong "usap" namin sa office, at si Iñigo naman... being himself, mang-aasar. Not that I'm expecting Kael to talk to me, I just noticed that he became more distant from me after that day.

[Be there in five.] He said and ended the call. What?! Five minutes? I am still in my bath robe! Katatapos ko lang maligo at hindi ko pa alam kung anong isusuot ko! Hindi ko talaga alam kung anong tumatakbo sa isip nito ni Darren at five minutes na lang ay nandito na siya!

I quickly stood up and went to my closet to choose my clothes. Damn, why did I volunteer to supervise this project? In the first place, hindi ko naman talaga alam na team pala ni Kael ang magha-handle nito! Hindi ako makapili nang maayos dahil nagpa-panic na 'ko. Any minute now, Darren would walk into that door... shit.

I was about to put on my top when the door opened and it showed Darren who was wearing a suit. He laughed when he saw my situation. Tumalikod siya pero hindi talaga niya napigilang tumawa. "You know, you're like a tomato. Your face is so red!" He continued laughing.

"Stop laughing, will you?!" I shouted and rolled my eyes at him. "Okay na! Humarap ka na!"

Natatawa pa rin siyang lumapit sa 'kin at hinalikan ako sa noo bago ako hilahin para yakapin. Hindi ako sumagot dahil nahihiya pa rin ako noong nadatnan niya 'kong nagbibihis. Well, it's not like he never saw me dress up, but since the 'office' and my brother's non-stop tease, I would gladly dress up without his presence. "Missed me?"

"Miss mo mukha mo," I said and pouted before hitting him lightly on his chest.

He chuckled. "God, I missed you too." Napailing na lang ako at niyakap siya pabalik. When we got tired of hugging, he took a shower before changing into a more casual clothes.

With his cargo shorts and plain white t-shirt, he just looked like some tourist! Hindi nga siya mukhang kasal na e. He really looked so young and fresh. Ang unfair naman sa side ko! I looked like I aged big-time but I still look kind of young, lalo na kapag nag-ayos ako, pero unfair pa rin! Si Darren kahit hindi mag-ayos mukhang bata pa rin.

"Why are you staring at me?" He said while we're walking towards the site. Nakita ko kaagad si Iñigo na tumatakbo papunta kay Kael na may dala-dalang mga papel.

I shook my head. "I'm just thinking how unfair you are. You look young and fresh, anong nangyari sa 'kin?"

He laughed and stopped walking. "You are one crazy woman. You still look young!"
