Could Love be Hard as Math?

Chapter 1

Mina POV

"Mina, can you please stay after class?" Mrs. Son said to me.

Ehh? What? Why did she wants to met me after class? Did she caught me daydream in her class? Did she wants to give me a warning? Oh my God! What did I do?

"O-okay Ma'am." I answer her nervously.

After 30 minutes, the bell ring and the other was hurry went out from the class to the next class. But, here I am leaving back as Mrs. Son wants to meet me. Again, my mind keep running with some thought why she wants to meet me after class. I didn't do anything wrong right? I might be daydream in her class just now, but I'm always score. So, that's not the reason right? Maybe my brain just function well I guess. But, other think I'm a nerd and weird.

"Hmm Ma'am? Why did you want to see me? Did I do something wrong?" I asked curious and nervous.

"Oh yes Mina. No. No. You don't. Actually I need help and I think only you can help me with that." She said looking at me.

I look down as I really don't like make a contact with anyone. No no. I'm not a rude person, just I don't like people look at me. Maybe that's why people call me weird.

"Hmm. What kind of help?" I said still not making an eye contact with her.

"Oh, I kinda need your help to be my son tutor." She said.

"Hmm, I'm sorry to make you down. But, I'm just good with maths. The others I'm still struggle to maintain the grade. You know what I mean?" I said finally make a contact with her.

"Oh come on Mina. You're one of best students in this school. Give some credit to yourself. Besides, I need your help with a maths. So, as you said, you good in math." She add.

"Haa? I'm sorry again. But, you're the teacher. Haa, what I mean-hmm. You know what I mean." I said didn't know how to elaborate.

You see, this one reason I really don't like talking to the others. I attempt to make fool of myself.

"Oh, I know what you mean. This is the main reason I need your help. My son just look me as his mom not his teacher. So, that why I need your help." She said laugh a bit.

"Oh. Hmm. But-." Before I finish my sentences Mrs. Son cut me off.

"I will give a recommendation letter for you college. I know you need some of that. Besides, I can give you an allowance." She said with smile in her face.

Recommendation letter? That's sound good and very interesting offer for me. Well, even I'm being a smart kid definitely I'm not a teacher pet's. Like I said, people think I'm weird. As you know, I really don't like talking to the others even a teachers. Being introvert is really me.

"Hmm, I think I should agree with that." I said smiling.

"Which part? The letter or allowance? Or both?" She question smiling.

"I'm stick with the letter." I replied smiling back.

"That's sound good to me. But, I would like to add the allowance. Just take it okay." She said writing something on the sticky note.

She hand me two sticky note. "There is my address. I would love if you can start tonight. I won't be home tonight but, my son will let you in. Just ring the bell. And this, just in case you getting late for you next class. Thank you again Mina." She said smiling wide to me.

"Hmm. I'm the one should say thank you." I replied smiling wide same as her showing my gummy smile ready to walk out.

"Oh Mina. You should smile often. You have a beautiful smile." Mrs. Son said making me blush.

"Hmm, thank you." I said shyly and walk away.

Its already 7 pm, I should be at Mrs. Son house 8 pm. Arghh, I really hate getting out from my house. But, I getting ready to start my journey as a tutor. On my way to Mrs. Son house, I make a stop at convenience shop to buy some snack for later. Remembering I once saw Mrs. Son picture family, I buy some gummy bear jelly.

As I arrived at the address given, I'm a bit shocked. Her house a big than what I expected. Well, guess being a teachers get a high pay. I take a deep breath before I ring the bell. I ring a couple of times as no one opened the door. I keep ring until I hear someone running and open the door. Oh my god! Did I make them pissed by the bell ring? I guess its her husband but I'm totally wrong. Well, I'm right about a pissed part but its definitely not her husband.

"Hmm.. oh, I guess I got a wrong house. I'm-  I'm sorry." I said as I turn myself ready to walk.

"Where did you want to go?" He asked sound a bit pissed.

"Hmm, Mrs. Son?" I turn replied not sure.

"So, you got a right house then." He said wipe his wet hair with towel.

"Haa? What?" I tilt my head confused.

He then chuckle seeing me like this. Maybe he think I look funny or weird.

I composed myself and asked "If this her house, what are you doing here?".

"I'm living here." He simply replied still wipe his hair. Could he stop it? Its distract me.

"Haa?" Again I being confused. Then, it hit me. I just realised their name. Mrs. Son and Son Chaeyoung! Stupid Mina.

"Why no one know about it?" I asked again.

"Well, I told her to keep it as a secret." He explain.

"Oh okay. Okay, then you should call you brother as I'm going to be his tutor." I said to him.

"I don't have a brother. I just have a sister." He replied with smirk in his face.

"But, your mom said I will be a tutor for her son." I said confused.

"That's would be me." He said still smirk.

"What? I- huh?-." I stop as again I realise something. That picture I saw definitely when he 9 or 10 years old. Again, stupid Mina.

"So, do you want to get in or not?" He asked and lean in on the frame door make a way for me to come in.

I just walk inside and wait for him. My eyes can't help to wander around. I can see his family photo on the side table. So, he's really Mrs. Son's son. Well, its going to be awkward then.

"Just wait for me in the dining table. I will be back with my work just a minutes." He said and went upstairs.

Wow, just wow. I never thought I will be in Son Chaeyoung house alone. What a great! I just sigh and make a way to the dining table. I take out my homework and put the snack I buy early in the table. Again, I sigh seeing the gummy bear. Why I didn't ask Mrs. Son? See, you know what I means by I attempt to embarrassed myself?  Hmmm.

Minute later, Chaeyoung joined me in the table. He put her work on the table. Then, he begin to work on it. I can see he have a frown in her face when ever he can't answer or confused. Cute. Wait! What are you thinking Mina? I can see he have a difficult time to solved the question. So, being his tutor I have no choice to ask him.

"Do you need help?" I asked him.

"Haa?" He look at me so confused.

"I said do you need help?" I asked again.

"Haa... yes, could you teach me how can I get this question?" He asked showing me the question.

I started to teach him how to solved the question. Well, he is a fast catcher. Everything I told him, he can make it after that without any help. I just need to told him once. So, not so much trouble for me I guess. Maybe that why people call him Mr. Perfect. Just I don't think he find math that hard.

"Hmm, here. I buy this early as I thought I would teach a 9 years old kids. You can have it." I said give him the gummy bear.

"Thanks." He said and open the gummy bears. I see he not being pissed with me anymore.

We continue doing our work until late night. He offering to take me home which I agree. I won't make it to walk as I'm feel so tired and sleepy. What a great day for me.
