Mina POV
I quickly follow behind him. He walks silently and seems to be in deep thoughts. The mystery girl is probably the same girl who shot him down for homecoming. I feel bad for him and Tzuyu, though my chest hurts more than I expected. I probably got too deep and involved with their love triangle. Is it too late to back out now? Tzuyu probably won't care anymore since she seems to be upset with me for a reason. However, if I stop helping her, she might get even more upset. I sigh.
"There you are Chaeyoung! I was looking for you." Tzuyu said running to Chaeyoung without acknowledging that I'm following right behind him.
""Hmm." Chaeyoung just hummed then look back at me. I just fake a smile.
"We should head for the haunted house!" Dahyun suggest excitedly. He sound so excited after waiting the whole day for it.
"Hmm, I think I will pass it. I will just sit this on out. I don't do well with scary stuff." I admit. Hell no, I'm not going.
"No, you have to go. You haven't done anything all day." Sana demands taking me by arm before I can protest.
"But.-." Jihyo hold my other arm and drag me along to the haunted house.
I honestly hoped for a low budget haunted house, with maybe some props and people to scare us for about one minute. But, I was wrong. The tent set up was larger than I expected. And the people in extravagant and detailed costumes walking in the front weren't easing my nerves either.
"Hmm, I don't think I can do this." I groan.
"Come on Mina." Sana said still hold my arm.
"But you guys know how I can't handle this kind of type. Please." I pleading to Sana and Jihyo while tried to release my arms.
"Don't worry. Its only ten minutes." Dahyun tries to assure me.
"Ten minutes? I think I will have a heart attack before two minutes." I said still tried to release myself.
"You will be fine. Just keep walking even if you are scared. The actors aren't allowed to touch you anyways. Just remember that." Jeongyeon said holding my hand tried to calm me.
I nodded slowly. I turn to Chaeyoung seeing him look at me and Jeongyeon, then quickly walk away. He seem so off after our talk at the park. I just shrugged it off and tried to prepare myself to this torture. Once, we step inside I'm already regretting it. There's an eerie echo of footsteps that seem to make everyone excited. But definitely not for me. The tent is dark and plastered with decorations and props making it hard for me to see and walk without tripping over something or running into the wall. We walk by a dimly lit table of fake candles and I see Tzuyu walking closely next to Chaeyoung. Tzuyu has a smile plastered in her face and Chaeyoung seem indifferently. Tzuyu had always been a fan of horror. Chaeyoung doesn't seem to be fazed by it. They are a good match for each other.
A grotesque figure lunges out of the window in the wall. I thought it was a picture and I immediately jump back and bumping into Chaeyoung. Make up and silicone make it so that the figure's skin seems to be melting off of his face with seems irritated with masses of blisters that bleed. I think I'm gonna to puke. I keep walking but I start to lose my balance and sense if direction. Seriously, horror really not my thing. I keep my eyes on the ground, squinting once in a while to look where I'm going. Screams and growls up ahead are starting to get over bearing. So, I cover my ears with my hand. Eventually, so much goes on around me make me completely shut my eyes and try slowly make it through the haunted house. I flinch when my head bumped into someone's chest. Chaeyoung looks at me amused.
"I see third graders handling this better than you." He teases.
I'm too paranoid of another person springing out to be offended.
