Clash of Raptors (Story 5 - Part 1)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor demoness was standing high up on the rooftop of one of the buildings in New Strip City, having followed a lead about the two newest bounties she was hunting, searching for any sign of them with the help of her binoculars. 

One bounty she was searching for was a male Aviary Cyclops demon, a bounty that had just been posted about a month ago that she had decided to take. 

The other was a Moose demon, a bounty that had just been posted about a week ago. 

She sighed in annoyance as she put her binoculars back into her backpack, lowering the goggles resting on her forehead so that they were now over her eyes. 

She knew that if she was going to a place called New Strip City, she would feel overdressed, wearing her Bounty Hunter uniform consisting of a red jacket, dark grey catsuit and matching red boots with her claws sticking out. 

It’s the reason why she had decided to stick to the rooftops instead of walking through the streets, seeing as how almost everyone was wearing something short or semi-revealing. 

There were also multiple bars and clubs everywhere she looked, much to New Strip City’s name. 

Shaking her head and refocusing on the task at hand, Venno took a running start before jumping from the rooftop she had been on, the small jets strapped to her outer thighs activating and propelling her towards the next rooftop she had decided to go to.

Once she had landed on the next rooftop, having changed positions to get a better angle of a different street, she took out her binoculars again and began scanning the new street to see if she could find any of her two bounties. 

As she did so, her mind began to wonder again, causing her to zone out. 

She couldn’t help but smile when the first thing she thought about was the amount of bounties she had captured so far in a short amount of time. 

She had been living in Hell for almost five months, and she was already moving up on the Bounty Hunter leaderboard. 

Of course, Barry was still at the top with the second most bounties hunted and captured, and Jerry ‘Sniper’ Rifele was at the top with the most. 

It didn’t help that she had decided to hunt down multiple bounties, depending on how many happened to be in the same area together. 

Jerry was mostly against it, but didn’t complain since he was impressed with how many bounties she had brought in in a span of five months, deciding to allow it for the time being. 

This tended to exhaust her a lot more, but she didn’t let it show since she was stubborn about it. 

She chuckled to herself when she recalled how angry Barry looked when he saw that she was quickly climbing the Bounty Hunter leaderboard, the Wolf Hound demon wanting more than anything to become the new Overlord of Bounty Hunting. 

As opposed to killing the Overlord of Bounty Hunting, like one must do with most Overlords, Jerry decided to make it where the Bounty Hunter who manages to surpass his record will become the new Overlord of Bounty Hunting.

Venno had to guess that Barry wanted to become the new Overlord of Bounty Hunting, but was afraid that Venno might surpass him since her score was going up the leaderboard pretty quickly. 

As Venno continued to zone out, seeing no sign of either of the bounties she was looking for, her mind began to wonder back to a few nights after she found out her sister was now in Hell, having taken her to Arachnè’s Web to introduce her sister to the Black Widow demoness.
