Broken Hearts (Story 17 - Part 1)

With Venno:

The Velociraptor demoness was sitting in her usual spot at the large round table with Barry beside her.

Everyone was minding their own business as they all waited for Jerry, the Spider demon most likely taking his time with his injured leg.

Venno, on the other hand, was attempting to appear fine like everyone else but was finding it a bit difficult.

She had been feeling nauseous and sick almost all week, and sometimes she would feel a few sharp pains in her stomach along with it.

Now, the sharp pains were beginning to settle down, but the feeling of being sick had yet to go away.

It was at this time that Venno was feeling nauseous, a sudden dizzy feeling that passed over her as she tried to remain calm and unchanging about it.

This didn't go unnoticed by Barry, the Wolf Hound demon glancing over and seeing that Venno was remaining silent with her arms crossed, the Velociraptor demoness having not moved a muscle.

"Are you alright?" asked Barry, the Wolf Hound demon raising an eyebrow in confusion.

Venno jumped in fright, having not expected him to ask.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I've just been feeling a little sick, is all" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness chuckling and waving it off, the feeling now passing.

Barry just frowned, the Wolf Hound demon now concerned.

"If you're not feeling well, then maybe you should go back home and get some rest. You don't want to go out on a hunt while you're sick, it may slow you down and keep you from catching your bounty" said Barry, the Wolf Hound demon hoping to convince Venno to go home and rest like he said.

Venno shook her head, the Velociraptor demoness being as stubborn as Jerry.

"I'm not going to let myself lay around at home letting bounties get away just because I'm feeling a little sick lately. Honestly, I'm fine Barry. Don't worry about me" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness smiling as she waved it off.

Barry just frowned, the Wolf Hound demon about to argue back when he was suddenly interrupted by Jerry, the Spider demon having just arrived.

"Alright everyone, here are the folders, you all know what to do. Nothing important to say this time, so just go on ahead and choose who you'd like to hunt today" announced Jerry, the Spider demon taking a seat in his usual chair before sliding the pile of folders to the center of the table.

Like usual, everyone who was able to reach across and managed to grab a folder while the rest just got up and went over to the wall of wanted posters.

Venno was about to get up when Barry suddenly handed her a folder, the Wolf Hound demon having grabbed two, one of them for himself.

"Thanks, Barry" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness smiling gratefully.

Barry smiled and nodded, the Wolf Hound demon managing to hide his concern for the Velociraptor demoness by opening his folder and looking through the news bounties.

Time Skip:

The Velociraptor demoness had chosen a bounty that was in New Strip City this time, having barely gone to the city before.

To say the least, the Velociraptor demoness was happy to be hunting another bounty in New Strip City after having not visited it for a while.

As Venno stepped off the train in her Bounty Hunter uniform, her goggles resting on her forehead, she smiled and took a deep breath in before sighing.
