The Young Harpy Demoness (Story 9 - Part 5)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor demoness and her brother were standing in the lobby waiting for Jerry to return from his office, having told Fiona to meet with him whenever she got the chance. 

The two Harpy demons had already arrived a few minutes before Venno and her brother went down to the lobby. They were currently speaking to their daughter in the interrogation room, allowing the young Harpy demoness to finally explain to her parents why she had decided to leave. 

Rad was sitting on a chair, one of the janitors mopping the floor nearby while also glaring at him, but the Toxic Sludge demon didn’t seem to notice. 

Rad sighed, his arms crossed as he looked down at the floor. 

“I feel like it was partially my fault she decided to leave home, even though all she wanted to do was show her parents that she can take care of herself and that she doesn’t always need them around” admitted Rad, having thought about what had happened for the last few minutes. 

Venno sighed and shook her head, glancing over at where the Cockatoo demon was sitting, having thought he had left when she told him to. 

“Don’t blame yourself, you were just trying to make her feel better. What she did was all up to her” said Venno. 

Rad nodded in understanding, the two siblings remaining silent as they continued to wait. 

With Jerry: 

The Spider demon was sitting in his chair, waiting for Fiona to come up to his office. 

As he took a slow puff from his cigar, he heard someone knock on his door. 

“Come in” called Jerry, already knowing who it was. 

The Pomeranian demoness entered, closing the door behind her before walking over. 

Now that she was standing in front of Jerry’s desk, the Spider demon could see how nervous she was, her hands clasped together and her ears resting against her head. 

“What is it you’d like to talk to me about?” asked the Pomeranian demoness, worried she might have done something wrong. 

Jerry decided to get straight to the point. 

“You decided to go into the interrogation room and have a conversation with that young Harpy demoness, even though I only told you to stay guard and make sure she doesn’t leave” started Jerry. 

Fiona gulped and nodded, hanging her head in shame. 

“I know, but I felt so bad that I couldn’t see her so afraid. I wanted to cheer her up and make her feel more comfortable, so I decided to just talk to her. I’m so sorry that I did something wrong, I understand if you want me to leave” said Fiona. 

Jerry’s eyes widened before he chuckled, causing the Pomeranian demoness to jump in fright. 

“I’m not firing you, in fact, I want to promote you and make you my new Bounty Investigator. You managed to get a confession out of her by just having a friendly conversation, which is a tactic I’m not used to. Perhaps we would benefit from that more than just questioning them” said Jerry, smiling. 

Fiona looked a little worried and afraid, the Pomeranian demoness shrinking down slightly. 

“You want me to be the new Bounty Investigator? You mean temporarily, right? Isn’t our current one coming back?” asked Fiona, confused as to why Jerry would tell her this. 

Jerry sighed and shook his head. 

“Unfortunately, he’s decided to retire. I couldn’t say no to him, considering he is a father with a son. Last thing I need is to lose him and have a kid be left alone with his father. I was going to take over interrogating bounties myself, but I think it would be if you did it instead” said Jerry, shrugging before taking a quick puff from his cigar.
