Broken Hearts (Story 17 - Part 2)

With Venno:

The Velociraptor demoness and Anglerfish demon both landed on the roof of an apartment building, the two looking down at the large museum that was across the street.

"So, that's the museum of New Strip City" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness resting a hand on her hip as she raised her goggles onto her forehead with her other.

Dexx nodded, the Anglerfish demon raising his own pair of goggles so they, too, were resting on his forehead. They were something new that the Anglerfish demon had just completed making, the lenses being able to glow turquoise at the push of a small button on the side. Dexx found that the goggles were better than the mask he previously wore, back when he first met Venno, and had decided that he would make himself a pair of goggles.

"That's right. It's a pretty big museum. Lucky for us, I heard that that bounty of ours likes to make grand entrances" explained Dexx, the Anglerfish trying to recall when he heard about the bounty they were hunting.

Venno frowned and nodded in understanding.

The Velociraptor demoness then smiled, unable to help but blush lightly when she realized Dexx had said they were hunting the bounty together.

The Velociraptor demoness quickly shook her head and regained herself as Dexx glanced over at her.

"Alright, what do you suppose we do?" asked Venno.

Dexx hummed in thought as he returned his attention back down to the museum, the Anglerfish demon now thinking.

"Well, since this guy likes to make grand entrances, we'll know he's there the second he arrives, although I prefer being silent and stealthy so nobody knows I was even there" explained Dexx.

Venno nodded in understanding once more as she returned her attention down to the museum.

It was silent between the two as Dexx focused on thinking of a plan on how they could capture the bounty, but Venno was thinking about something else entirely.

Despite the silence between the two, Venno was wondering if now was the right time to tell Dexx about what Jerry had said, about letting him use his skills for good by becoming a Bounty Hunter.

Venno took a deep breath in and sighed, the Velociraptor demoness about to tell Dexx when the Anglerfish demon suddenly interrupted.

"Let's head inside. We can pretend to be tourists and walk around the jewelry exhibit. That's where they're more likely to feature the diamond along with a bunch of other gems. Too bad I won't be able to take anything this time around" said Dexx the Anglerfish demon smiling as he pretended to sound disappointed.

Venno couldn't help but laugh, the Velociraptor demoness happy to hear this.

"That's a pretty good idea. It's something different from what I would normally do, but if you think it'll work, then I'm more than happy to give it a try" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness more accustomed to hunting her bounties from the rooftops.

Dexx nodded in agreement and understanding, the two jumping down from the rooftop together.

The jets strapped to Venno's outer thighs and the jets in the soles of Dexx's boots both activated and allowed the two to land gently on the ground.

"Alright, remember, we're tourists visiting the museum" whispered Dexx as he and Venno crossed the street.

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor demoness then frowning.

"Yes, we're tourists, only I'm wearing my Bounty Hunter uniform and we both have our own backpacks. It's not like we're going to stand out in the middle of all the other visitors in the museum" said Venno, the Velociraptor demoness crossing her arms.
