The Denial of Love (Story 16 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor gently landed on the roof of the tallest warehouse located at the docks. 

Venno watched the many workers walk by while preparing large storage containers to load onto the large ships for a few minutes before deciding to head towards the end of the dock where she first saw the Anglerfish. 

Standing on the roof of the warehouse building beside the one she saw Dexx walk into the day she got his bounty, Venno looked around and saw that not many workers came to the end of the dock, except for those who appeared to be taking a break from work. 

Venno frowned as she took her walkie talkie out of her backpack, about to contact the older Spider like he wanted her to.

The Velociraptor was about to press the button and tell Jerry where she was, but she suddenly hesitated, stopping herself from pressing the button. 

She didn’t want to have to bring Dexx in, especially since they shared a special connection that she had never felt with anyone else before. 

As these thoughts went through her head, Venno clutched her walkie talkie in her hand tighter. 

The Anglerfish was a thief, but she knew that he only started stealing because he was brought into it by his own mother.

Now the Anglerfish was a professional thief, and an elusive one, too. 

Venno sighed, knowing that Jerry was expecting her to contact him whenever something happened. 

“Boss, I’m at the docks. I’m just on the roof of the warehouse beside the one Dexx’s hideout may be. I can’t be too sure, though, since I never got a good look inside before chasing after him” explained Venno, unsure whether or not Dexx’s hideout was in the old warehouse at the end of the dock. 

“Right on, Rapter. Keep in touch” said Jerry simply, the older Spider sounding happy to hear this. 

Venno sighed as she put her walkie talkie away, the Velociraptor unsure of what to do next, despite having been a Bounty Hunter for a long time now. 

Venno’s eyes suddenly widened when she saw a familiar figure wearing all black walk out of the warehouse, and Venno was quickly able to tell who it was. 

Taking a few deep breaths, Venno jumped down from the roof she was on and landed on the ground gently because of the little jets strapped to her outer thighs. 

“Dexx” called Venno, the Velociraptor walking over to where the Anglerfish was, startling him. 

“Venno, what are you doing here?” asked Dexx, the Anglerfish closing and locking the doors to the warehouse, his ear flicking slightly. 

Venno frowned for a second, the Velociraptor knowing she had caught him as he was leaving. She was unsure of what to say, but she then shook her head and quickly regained herself. 

“I just finished a hunt and was passing by when I saw you. Anyway, I’ve been doing some thinking, and I was hoping that maybe we could spend some time together before you leave” said Venno, deciding not to tell Dexx about what Jerry wanted her to do, instead choosing to smile and shrug weakly. 

Dexx tilted his head to the side, confused. 

“You mean like a date?” asked Dexx, the Anglerfish getting suspicious as he raised an eyebrow. 

Venno frowned and shook her head. 

“No, well, sort of. I’m not sure what to call it, honestly. It’s been a while, and I do know that I have feelings for you like you have for me. I mean, who knows how much longer this will last, considering you do have a bounty” said Venno.
