"Hope Entertainment! Isn't that amazing?"
She stays silent for awhile and if it wasn't for the noises that are coming from my speaker, I would've thought we lost connection.
"Babe? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah.. it's just. I'm surprised. Why would an entertainment company reach out to you if you're a call center?"
I can't help but chuckle as I hear a little tremble in her voice. It's like she's nervous for me, which is truly adorable.
"Well, Jimin and I have been talking about transforming our company into an entertainment business. We just kept it off as it's easier to get financial help from other call centers. But seeing as the opportunity basically presented itself on a silver platter, Jimin and I are both really excited. Most of our employees are students and just some of them are parents. All of them are looking for other jobs because of the bankruptcy we're facing. So there's no better time than the present to try something new."
"Yeah."
It's all she says as the line goes silent again. I thought she'd be more excited about this, especially since I'll be traveling to Seoul. But it seems the news of the company that's interested in us has bummed her out.
It only makes me curious, she's acting a little distant right now and I'm not exactly used to that. As far as I've got to know her, she's one of those people that tend to speak her mind whenever she feels like it. No matter if it's appropriate or not. Just like when she stood up for Jimin and I during that first meeting and told Namjoon that his deal was a little one sided.
"Are you sure you're alright?"
"Yeah, it's just.. I've got to go. I'm supposed to follow my father around today and.. I've arrived at our next appointment."
"Oh, okay. Call me tonight okay?"
"Yeah I will."
With that she ends the call and I can't help but sigh and sink into the couch in my office a little more.
Am I somehow rushing our relationship?
I asked her to be my girlfriend, four days after meeting her. But she said yes, so I don't really see any problem with that. I brought her to the airport yesterday, like a true gentleman and we talked on the phone while she was waiting to board her plane. During that call we got to know each other a little more, while also telling each other silly stories about our childhood and school days.
