Twenty Eight

~🐰~

After a long conversation with my father over the phone, the issue about the equipment for the dance studios, recording studio's and artists studios had finally been solved. He informed me that he had a firm talk with the guy that owns the place and told him that if I ever call again, no matter for what company, he better listen to what I'm telling him rather than telling me that my name means squat. Simply because the name Jung means a lot in the entertainment industry, especially when I become the new CEO of the family company. My father also made it clear that it would barely take him a second to find another company to work with for the equipment we need and that it'd be a smart move for this guy to just work with us rather than against us.

In other words, my father scared the crap out of the man and was able to fast-track my order. Like this, the time we lost because of this issue was now gained so we didn't have to tell the renovation crew to put a pause on three of our floors. Both Jimin and Jungkook were ecstatic when I gave them the news and enveloped me in a big bear hug to show me their appreciation of how the situation got fixed.

My father told me that whenever I'm running into a big issue like that, I should push my pride aside and just ask for help while I still can. He told me that when I'm the CEO he'll still be there to help me, but that as I'm still in the learning process he can and wants to help me as much as possible instead of me trying to prove myself to him by fucking up. He, of course, could have chosen a few different words simply to say it a little nicer.. but I knew what he meant and I knew he didn't think I actually fucked up.

I just need to be a little less stubborn, in his opinion that is..

But I know what I'm doing and it's not like he never hit a snag while setting up Hope Entertainment. Creating and building a business from the ground up takes a lot of hard work, a lot of effort, recourses, and a lot of guts. It has so many more factors because Hope Entertainment didn't become the biggest name in the industry by pure luck and putting in the works.. it took so much time and energy from my father together with pure dedication, late nights, savings that we only hoped would be earned back and of course an iron fist. You don't get to be the biggest by playing nice in the sandbox.

No!

You have an iron fist, you stand tall and barely budge. You make alliances with those who you think you can trust and are quick to cut them out if they prove to be disloyal. I have seen my father cut out one of his best friends from not only the business but also his life when he showed that he used my father and our family just to put himself ahead. My father absolutely hated that and ever since he's had his walls up when it comes to the business, he's careful about the people he lets in and allows to work with him.
