"Do we really have to go?"
Sighing, Jimin grabs the bridge of his nose in between his thumb and index finger. "Yes Kook, we have to go!"
I groan and cover my head with my blanket as I'm still in my bed.
We received an invitation for a masquerade ball at Hope Entertainment about a month ago, tonight is when it'll take place. It's supposed to be a party to celebrate Ava's promotion as she'll officially be the new CEO of Hope Entertainment and thus the CEO of JP Entertainment.
Over the past two years, a lot of things have changed. JP Entertainment took off like nothing either Jimin nor I were expecting. The audition form we had put online before we even officially opened our doors was already overflowing with applications, more than we were even expecting.
We've scheduled all applicants and did our absolutely best to see everyone. The weeks that were filled with auditions were absolutely amazing and mind-blowing. I never knew that there were so many talented people in Busan and other places around our city. We recorded all auditions and watched them again after the day was over. We made a couple of cuts and had them come back for a second audition. And after the second auditions, we cut even more people out, leaving us with about ten potential artists and two groups. After that we consulted with Jung Dae-Seong; aka the CEO of Hope Entertainment and Ava's father, and we eventually accepted both groups and one solo artist.
The remaining nine artists were informed that we wouldn't be working with them but that they did have a shot at making it as an artist if they kept up the good work. We tried to let them down easily and told them that we felt they just weren't ready yet.
Once we signed the two groups and the solo artist, together with the idols that moved back to Busan and transferred from Hope to JP, Jimin and I were absolutely ready to start our new journey together with these talents.
Busy weeks turned into busy months and before we even knew it, we were celebrating the first anniversary of JP Entertainment. Jung Dae-Seong flew out to Busan to check up on us and to celebrate with us of course, while Ava held down the fort in Seoul.
I had tried to work a little on myself, I felt like I needed to become a better person.. but with the amount of work I had on my plate, even if it was significantly less compared to when I was the President of Call Center Park, appeared to be a little complicated.
I couldn't just neglect my duty as Vice-President and I couldn't neglect my artists that Jimin and I worked very hard for.
