At this hour

Sophie's POV

' You know I met Steve , my mother's boyfriend he seems to be quite fun company to keep around besides he is a good natured man. I am happy for mom. She finally found someone who loves her unconditionally.' Alarick was listening to me quite attentively.

' You were the one who refused to meet Steve for last five years and now you seems to be admiring his traits.' That made me seemed as hypocrital in my own prejudice I held against him.

' No , I actually was quite I don't know how to say but seeing my mother with someone else then my father I always thought would be hard for me. Until I accepted the fact that she deserves to be happy even it's not with my father.' Alarick nodded at me and looked forward.

' I think people should be together regardless --.' Elaborate Alarick.

' Even they fall out of love with one another.' His ocean blue eyes met mine and he tucked my hair besides my ear.

' Yes , my parents were at verge of getting separated but they worked throughout the obstacles . It was hard and they did quite crappy things to other to deal with. In the end they are happy and content and quite glad they quit the idea of getting divorced at that stage of their lives.' Man this boy has quite traditional value towards the marriage. He never seems not to amaze me every single day.

' They work together Alarick because they were still in love. Deep down they never wanted to get detach from one another. Although they are not quite expressive through their body language they do care about each other. It's quite different from what my parents had.' I have seen his parents and whenever still they looked into each other eyes their eyes sparkle , smile flung over their faces. After all these years.

' I still believe that there are no issues that can't be solved. It's not about who made you feel things it's all about who sticks around regardless of whatever life throws at them.' I sighed.

' Only if they care enough about each other to solve those issues. Alarick.' Then I pulled blanket over me and sleep drifted me slowly then all at once. Alarick put his arms around me.

Meow. Meow.

With my hands I searched for Alarick he was not on the bed. I started panting hard. The voice of cat seems quite edgy when you actually don't own a cat and one that you owned died last month.

Then the voice became louder . I took my mobile phone and switched on the torch and started to see for the cat in the dark room and put the phone down . Suddenly the voice stopped. I looked around again. I stood up from the bed to look around but didn't see anything I am quite fragile hearted when it comes to these things.

Then it started roaring again like groaning, hissing and spitting I reached the switch board but couldn't find then I went back to the bed to take my mobile phone. My hands wandered around bed in search of mobile then the cat started to howl loudly.

The howling stopped. I heard someone whispering.

' Sophie.' That made my nerves cold that was woman's voice. I thought at first my mind is playing trick on me but I was frightened.

' Sophie , Sophie. ' Then I heard woman giggling and I heard the voice from far away maybe from the kitchen.

' Alarick .' I ran hastily towards room's gate to leave the apartment this very second.

My legs were biggest traitors I felt on the ground betrayed by them when I was lying on the floor I heard footsteps dashing from the stair of my own room. I screeched from top of my lungs.

' Argh , Argh , Argh.' Then I witness someone pulling me closer and hugged me gently.

' Sophie. It's me. It's me.' In a swift I saw towards the face the moonlight shining on half of his beautiful face and his arms around me.

' What is the matter with you ? What made you scream and ran towards at this hour at night.' The concern in his voice was quite evident but my heart throbbed hard against my chest and I refused to even gaze towards him for a single second. I was horrified from this horrible memory.

' Where were you ?' I enquired looking deeply into his sea coloured eyes.

' I heard you scream my name. I was in the washroom. Where would I go at midnight ?' He sounded obvious where can one go at this time. I was relieved he was with me all my demons started to be at peace.

' There was voice of cat hissing then a woman whispered my name. The voice trailed me off towards the kitchen.' In a swift he rose on his feet surveying the kitchen switched on the lights and saw outside the kitchen from the windows and found nothing. Then he inspected each and every corner of the house.

The took out his hand I grabbed his soft hands and he gave it the squeeze.

' Sophie, there is no one. Maybe that was nightmare. You owned Handsome since long time and despite due to your dedication towards your studies you never neglected him. You cried your eyes out when he died. Maybe. Maybe that was mere bad nightmare.' His arms encircled around my shoulders and he made his way towards the stairs. He fall asleep while I was in my thoughts about this nightmare wide eyes open and staring at the cieling.

I saw a woman in my house barely dressed from top to bottom sleeping on bed inside my own apartment in the room. Then I heard a cat voice which can't be mere a coincidence I heard woman whispering my name . I got quite suspicious of all these events there is some ghosts residing this place it was not a nightmare or illusion I can bet that with surity. I started sweating profusely fearing my life and trembling because of rigidity that nobody would belief my baseless theories.

Mrs. Collins never brought a woman neither did Alarick home it was her who want to threaten me so that I leave this place this apartment maybe vacant it's old but spacious so I rented it as reasonable price because nobody will be willing to do it. On the one hand I was never such blindly superstitious but you would deny something like that until you stumble upon. I was quite determined to leave this place. As soon as possible.
