An assurance

Emma's POV

Phone Rings

' Hello.' I greeted in a low voice.

' You don't date civilian but can you take exception for one.' I recognized the voice behind the phone call and threw a look to Alarick who winked at me.

' Err--.' I stood absolutely stunned at my place whereas Alarick chuckled I threw cushion at miss that missed the target and landed on floor.

Then I saw weak fragile figure standing near the couch my gaze felt on her and back to the phone I kept the phone and pivoted my attention to her.

She walked towards Alarick who eyes were already on her aimlessly.

' Alarick , I have to apologize. After all the fuss I have made.' His gaze smoothened and he still was paralyzed at his place. She took his hands in hers and kept a hand on his face than made him shuddered and he was mushy under her touch.

In a second his arms surrounded her embracing her and he looked towards the sky while his hold tightened around her.

' You don't need to apologize. We are in this together. ' He held his hand and grinned at her. Sophie nodded in reply and caressed him under her arms.

' Sophie I have done everything possible to win you back.' He exhibited kissing her above her ears putting his hands and snuggling more closer showing his affection. He butted his head and smile at her stroking her lips with his finger and closed his eyes.

They had most angelic pure devoted love for each other all the demons they had to fight lost their strength in front of them. When people say romance is dead although I firmly believe this notion there are still many people who love each other most eternally and that is rare very rare something I wanted something human soul would never get enough of something we all crave.

I caught sight of the number on my phone stop having a blind optimism. You could never have something that precious besides he is worthy of a girl who reappears after being apart for many months in row. Then I caught the glimpse of those lovebirds I felt ache in my heart Can I stop having blind faith regarding love? No matter how much strength I behold the vanquish the worst conditions in military I was still a girl who had faith in fairytales growing up.

' I threw you while you attacked Noah I am sorry but I was seriously never intended to do so it was in reflex you were out of control.' Alarick apologized hold her hands in between hers.

' You threw me at the rug. I didn't even got hurt.' Tears started forming at side of Alarick's eyes how could Sophie even think that this man raised his hand on her he would rather punish himself for ages. So precious.

' I know still Sophie. I am sorry.' He was expressing his regret over and over made me realize how guilty he was for his conduct that day.

' It's okay , Alarick.' Sophie held his hand tighter and kissed tenderly.

' We will go away from this house , this place and these people you like mountains I have bought house for two of us. Just two of us. I would promise to cherish you. Sophie. Forever.' Sophie's expression flickered for a second and she eased a bit nodding in agreement.

' My mom.' She murmured taking Alarick offguard.

' I'll tell her about your condition. We will depart after we met her. Don't worry.' He reassured her keeping tucking her hair behind her ears his eyes stayed on her hair.

' Yeah. ' she smiled at him.

' Besides I am happy about something that you have your faith restored in me.' His twinkling eyes met hers and they both smiled at each other.

' The only person I don't trust is myself.' Her sorrowful voice caught me the misery of this illness was evident all over her face.

' You don't have to trust yourself trust me until you don't start to trust yourself.'  He made a vow Alarick is man of his words and it's not quite impossible for him to change his destiny for love of his life.

' My career.' Sophie spoke in low tone that made my ache worst as if someone twisted knife under my stomach because Sophie worked like madman for her medical career. I felt her melancholy overspread all over her face that was looking at Alarick like a lost kid with tears in her eyes.

' We can take of it when you are fine. You will be fine one day , Sophie.' He held her shoulder and promised her looking deep in her eyes. While her gaze were haggard completely blank seeing no possibility for future despite the pact made promises given despite every word said to her.

She jerked his hand and hastened out towards the room next to us.

' Emma , call all the friends we are having get together at our house to make Sophie stop dwelling and overanalayzing all the things go on currently. ' Then he began to reach out some of friends by calling and inviting them at our house for evening.

Even if that was great idea to prevent Sophie from overtthinking this I was aware that won't workout for longer. When our friends will leave the house she will be alone those thoughts will dominatingly inhabit her mind but I could see Alarick's restless attempts in making Sophie happy.

I wandered how long exactly Alarick would go to make her happy? Will he not get exhausted by the process ? I began to realize his love for her was deep as ocean but wasn't he afraid of drowning when there is tubulance and what if he get frightened of the same length and depth he was determined to cross for her.
