Day - ONE

Day of that night

Sophie's POV

I did not felt asleep the whole night. I saw the sun rising from the horizon and beaming all over the place illuminating it. I still had to gather courage to eventually get inside the room I lived.

Then when Alarick went to his office I hurried my steps towards the stairs and being awake whole night made me exhausted that I felt asleep . When I woke up I recalled the promise I made to Rebecca . I awaited sitting on the window and saw a woman hugging herself and walking towards this mansion.

I rushed towards the stairs seeing her almost pushing James aside.

Our eyes met I threw a genuine smile at her.

' I am so delighted to meet you again.' She leaned forward and hugged me.

' Me too. Mrs. Wilson.' I hugged back tenderly.

' We must take tour of the house because the last time you visited it was dark.' I did that on purpose seeing her all awkward and timid barely throwing faint smile every now and then.

We walked through the corridor of this enormous mansion. There were photos hanging from walls of Alrick's family his art collection each wall spoke of wealth and prosperity accept how miserable one can feel when left alone here.

' Who is she ? ' Rebecca glanced at lady in the picture wearing one of piece of Louis Vuitton her gray hair tied in bun , red lipstick on her lips , her smile beamed and she was tall woman with slender physique.

' She is Mrs. Margaret Ivy Rodriguez Alrick's grandmother she was lady behind Rodriguez empire although his grandfather was bright and ingenious man. All the major decisions ever was taken by her. She actually belonged to quite wealthy family and she was headstrong woman who was highly educated.' Rebecca watched me inquisitively and gasped air.

' You sound like you have met her before she passed away.' I nodded in agreement.

' Yes. I did. I knew Alarick since high school he introduced me to her she was a grounded woman despite all her achievements.' Rebecca smiled meaningfully her I was curious to know the reasons.

' You knew Alarick since high school ' I was took offguard and smiled faintly at her.

' Yes. I only knew him in the high school.' I walked forward. Rebecca followed me.

' You told me that there is a big library over here.' Her face grinned so was mine if I could see my own face.

' A vast a massive one you know they are customized according to fiction , biographies , self help , finance there are huge stacks of them piled together. ' I didn't recognized I was blabbering until I saw Rebecca's face and she seemed extremely disinterested in all the boring topics I pulled.

' Can we sit down and talk ? ' She interrupted me while I stopped in my tracks.

' Yes. Sure.' I smiled at her and took her to the living room.

James has gone to fetch groceries I can surely sit in peace and talk to her.

' I must surely apologize for constant chatter. I am usually not that way. Trust me.' I was sitting in front of total stranger and almost about to pour my hearts out one hand I knew she could help me get out to this web on the other other I was aware of all the other circumstances.

' No. You don't need too.' She glanced around sides as if she was looking as if she is searching for someone.

' Are you alright ? ' I demanded.

' Yes. I am.' She shrugged her shoulder and started tapping her feet on ground repeatedly.

' What is that ?' I narrowed my eyes while she chew her lips.

' What is what?' She inquired while straightening her posture.

' Let's be direct. Why did you came to meet me ?' I interrogated with straight face as I didn't wanted her to know any clue that I thought I had a friend in this big lone castle.

' Being direct. Why you wanted to meet me ?' She urged me forward to answer that question while I move forward clasped my hands together.

' So I needed a friend as I was alone here.' I relaxed back at the couch crossing my legs on one another.

' You needed a friend.' She raised her eyebrow and folded her hands in front of her chest.

' I just needed a company which I have with you nothing more or less.' I took the glass in front of me and took sip of water and glanced towards the window.

' Alarick has trapped you here.' My eyes widened seeing her I gawked at her with astonishment.

' No. He d--idn't. ' I stuttered and faced different direction.

' Oh really.' She chuckled.

' Yes. He didn't. ' I replied my hands trembled while at back of my mind the scenerios from last night flashed in front of my eyes. I was about to die.

' You are only making fool of your own self by not trying to utter the truth.' I met her gaze while she took out cigarette clenched it in between her teeth and lit it.

' A fool is definitely a person who smokes in front of the doctor.' Her face became expressionless and she put cigarettes aside at table.

' A prisoner has no identity he is prisoner.' I clenched my fingers into fist she was provoking me to say the truth.

' We are in love with each other unconditionally and wholeheartedly. ' Those were just words but she laughed out loud.

' The gate is locked outside James locked it letting me in , there is fence across the garden , there are CCTV's inside the rooms , the food you will eat in which quantity is decided by him , your gym schedules are decided by him and even your dress are decided by him. He is trying to mold you into his play doll. What kind of love is that ? ' I was bombarded with question I didn't pleased to answer neither did I knew the answers.

' These none of the things are of your concern. GET OU-T NOW.' I yelled loudly standing up and pointing towards the door. My breatge rasped in my throat.

' It's your own insufficiency Sophie . You are not mad because you are exploited you are mere a joke because you gave it all for a guy who barely cares about you. ' I busted into tears but stood there determined to get her out.

' Even that is it's none of your concern.' I snapped back and sat removing tears from my handkerchief.

' That's what I did.' I heard a low whisper that made me look into her face.

' I did trusted him enough knowing his brutal ruthless unsparing side wished he will be different for me. He actually made me the same as you are currently few years back. I have lost myself. ' She had tears in her eyes she folded her gasped air and looked towards the window.

' I did love him. He actually married me knowing I was only daughter of my massively successful father knowing the assets I owned and the ancestor's property I inherited I was blindfolded  in love I got into wedlock despite my family and friends being against the marriage and the deal Alarick and him are involved he is forcing me to sell all my father's property to provide him capital for it.' She sat down near me , looked deep into my eyes and this wasn't the most beautiful woman I had seen I was seeing all miseries unraveling and I sat there paralyzed.

' He will leave me after he gets his business doneand my for sake of my daughter. He will leave us I don't know what to do without him ? because he trained me into person I am today. Please Sophie I beg you to stop Alarick because it will ruin my
family. ' I stood there but my mind had millions of thoughts.
