Day - ONE

The final truth

Emma's POV

We were sitting with each other and silent blinded us I saw the water ripples on the lake and cool air touched my body I took deep breathe and looked at Alarick who was much tensed than me.

' She will kill herself , Alarick . Let her go.' He gazed down at me and I started looking here and there at his lush greenery surrounding us.

' I won't. Let her go. Especially ---.' He scratched his hairs he was vexed and he sighed.

' I know , Alarick you don't have to punish yourself for her actions.' I got stiffed and he looked side to side his expressions clearly said take that back but I could see the picture crystal clear and I wasn't blinded by love like him.

' Emma. I do love her.' He declared and I saw his pupil expand when he confessed the intensity of emotions he has for her.

I looked aside and closed my eyes in disbelief.

' Yo-- you know she thinks that you have hired James to keep eyes on her.' He tilted his head and leaned back at the bench eased up a bit.

' I am well aware of that. She also thinks someone sound , famous and named as Mrs. Collins is behind her boyfriend.' I plucked grass from the land and started playing with it. The weather started getting cooler the leaves rustled along with wind and windows rattled and dark grey clouds hovering on us.

' That's why I wanted you Emma to know her narrative . Promise me for helping with it further.' He grasped my hand in his and I nodded in agreement.

' Alarick. I will.' I gave word of honour yet I was yet mystified in my thoughts.

' I am fully devoted to make her Sophie I knew.' I destested his efforts that are going in vain. I recalled Sophie's words echoing back in my mind I stood up from the place and screamed from top of my lungs.

' She's schizophrenic Alarick.' My voice echoed and we both held our gaze with each other for long and I reverted it back to the lake aside. There was moment of silence between us the stillness because of the final truth unraveling.

' That is not that reason enough that you back out from helping me and her. You are true friend , Emma. Don't give up that easily.' I kicked my legs in air and hold my neck behind with my hands.

' You should have seen her fabrication , all the delusions .' I kept my face upwards towards the sky and murmured.

' I know Emma. I know. I know that she believes someone spies her, she believes that I might harm her , she believes all the voices she hears , she believes that I have trapped her but what she doesn't believes no longer is me. I want to win that belief back.' He was devastated so was I and there was nothing we could do to save her no longer from this disease but from her own self but there was a determination in his voice that made me concious that being on tip of an iceberg doesn't scare Alarick for wishing life on the land.

There was I being rational in my way of thinking I loved Sophie from bottom of my heart so do I loved Alarick. My life will end being sandwiched between them I wished things were indifferent from current scenerios . Neither could I side with Sophie nor with Alarick. They both had an insane apetite for getting harmed for each other - Sophie to get harm from escaping him and Alarick to keep her bounded with him.

I walked towards Alarick who sat aside tree lost in his own thoughts.

' What are we going to do next ?' I cocked my neck in right side jittered still about the current situation.

His expressions eased and he threw me smile. His smile reached his ears he chuckled.

' What?' I enquired and he pointed a finger towards me.

'  Didn't you decided not to help me ?' I crossed my hands in front of my chest I straightened my form.

' I changed my plans.' I sat next to him and his eyes turned towards me.

' Why are you so arrogant ?' He questioned while I rolled my eyes to him.

' It's just way I am.' I shrugged my shoulder couldn't supress my grin the pride I took in my haughtiness.

' We have to make Sophie realize of her own situation. ' His eyes blazed with desire and there was sheer grit that as if this was not quite impossible task.

' Yeah. Otherwise , she will harm herself.' I was fretted by her words that send me shiver on back despite of surviving the worst conditions in military.

I began to understand Alarick's constant attempts to keep her inside the house and I couldn't not understand how he coped up with this for all this time.

' Why don't we directly go to her and tell her ? ' Alarick constantly nodded and watched me astonishingly.

' She trust you more than me I need you to make her concious of the current shit that she has been through and you know Sophie's nature she wouldn't not trust us if we walked directly towards her and convince her and nobody can be convinced easily that they are running insane.' I began to digest his thoughts and was quiet taken by that I didn't see this that pellucid before.

' I will help you.' I did not knew how but I smiled at him.

' We have to stay away in front of her before she frames you into this.' His eyes narrowed towards me and I hugged my legs with my hands getting on his level.

' Frame me for what ?' I was puzzled what possibly she could mount me for.

' For any instance. For spying at her or my involvement with you to harm her.' My mouth was wide open and his words taken me by surprise.

' She could do that.' I contended and was still not able to see how terrible blunder this could turn out to be.

' Yes she can. Beside I don't know what possibly she can do.' He blurted.

' How exactly we are going to do that ?' Then I was at my house besides my side table I saw my picture with Alarick.

After Sophie left the town I was quite taken by her aloof nature she set her eyes on being the doctor and didn't let anything come in her way. I only knew Sophie as friend when she started distancing herself from me I found solace in Alarick's presence. I couldn't see them both in pain. How would I convince Sophie about her indispotion ?
