Jon's POV Halloween Night
I picked at my dinner still thinking about Hiccup's words over a month ago. It was the last I heard of him. Apparently my friends begun to notice too.
"You okay Jon?" Ally asked me.
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine." I replied nervously.
"So you coming to the school Halloween party tonight?" Ronnie wondered.
"Nah I'm going to work on the book some more. Maybe take a walk or something." I answered putting my fork down.
"Take a walk?" Ally raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not a party person. Sorry guys but this book..." I paused looking around. "Could be the key to...everything. This book could change how we look at animals at science. Anything."
Ally shrugged, "Suit yourself. You know where to find us if you change your mind..."
*Time Skip*
My friends went to the party already. I looked at my watch, it was only 7pm. Time to head out. I grabbed a flashlight and walked into the elevator. My search begins tonight. I walked outside of Becka Hall and into the woods in the back.
I walked around for hours waiting for any sign of a dragon. Nothing. Zilch. Squat. "The time of dragons is coming again!" I shouted quoting Hiccup. "Then how am I supposed to find one?!"
CRACK! A branch cracked behind me. I whipped around to see...to see...a dragon. Black with forest green eyes, 3 pairs of ears, spikes on his back, and the dragon wasn't missing a left tailfin. Night Fury. YES! I found a dragon! It crept closer. I turned my head and stuck my hand out, like Hiccup did. It growled but cautiously stepped closer. Soon I felt the dragon's scaley head on my hand. I sighed in relief and turned towards the dragon. He smiled toothlessy and I smiled back.
"You're amazing!" I spoke to the dragon. He purred in response. "Hmmm...you need a name. How about...Shadow?" The Night Fury purred even louder and nudged me playfully. "You want to go for a flight?"
The Night Fury lowered himself to the ground and I climbed on. He took off into the sunset colored sky. I cheered pumping my fists in the air. Shadow flew up into the clouds and then dove down towards the ground. I hung onto his neck and he pulled up last second. We landed in a clearing and I slid off of Shadow. I stood in front of him and crouched low looking into his eyes. I rested my hand on his head.
"You are amazing Shadow." He closed his eyes and pushed his head further into my head. We were sucked into a vision or something.
Shadow and I were back at the cove. I looked at him and he kind of shrugged. Hiccup stepped from the shadows again.
"So you found him?" Hiccup asked.
"More like he found me." I laughed.
Shadow seemed to show recognition when he looked at Hiccup. "He looks just like Toothless..." Shadow ran over to Hiccup and licked him on the face. "Jon, he's yours now..."
"Wait! I have so many questions!" I shouted but Hiccup already disappeared.
