Jon's POV
I got off the plane with all my bags and waited for my ride. My parents told me to meet him here, in this very spot. So I stood and stood and stood until he finally shows up holding a sign up with my name on it. Oh it's just good old Jay! I didn't know he was going to pick me up. I handed him my bags.
"My parents didn't tell me it was going to be you that was picking me up!" I smiled.
"Oh yeah! I didn't know until the other day! They said because you pretty much hate everybody else, they least they could do was send someone you like." He scoffed.
"Typical." I responded. He put my bags in the trunk and I sat in the front seat with him as always.
Jay and I talked about what classes I would be taking for the whole twenty minutes. When we got there Jay dropped me off of the doorstep. There were five sets of window double doors in the front entrance and only two on all the sides. I pushed through and went to the front desk to pick up my information.
"Name please." The lady insisted.
"Haddock. Jonathan Haddock." I repsonded.
She handed me a stapled packet of papers, "So you're a Haddock huh? The legendary Haddock from the legends?"
I nodded, "Yes."
"Your parents must be so proud." She smiled.
As I stepped into the elevators, "Quite the opposite." The doors closed as the front desk lady had an expression of shock written across her face.
I was on the fifth floor, Room 5J. I opened the door to see a single bed and no one to be seen. I have a room to myself. Awesome. Just what I need. I do intend to make friends so I tossed my stuff onto the bed and walked out the door. Seeing a girl struggling with her room key I ran to help her.
"Here let me help." I gently grabbed the key from her hands and made an attempt to unlock the door. Click. The key turned and the door pushed open. "There you go."
"Thank you." She smiled at me as the door was closing.
"I don't suppose I could get your name?" I asked nervously.
"I'm Ally Hofferson short for Alexandria Hofferson." She stuck out her hand.
I shook her hand, "I'm Jonathan Haddock. But you can call me Jon. You're a Hofferson?"
She invited me in her room and I followed her in, "Yeah! You're a Haddock?!"
"In the flesh! I can't believe I met someone else from the myths!" I cheered.
"Really?! My friends are descendants from the myths as well! You have to meet them!" She insisted.
"That'd be awesome!" I looked around her room. "You're living by yourself too?"
"Yes! Isn't it great?! A room to myself!" She gestured to her room.
"I'm right across the hall! I'm all by myself too!" I beamed.
She smiled, "Let's go have a look shall we?" She grabbed my hand and dragged me to my own room.
I opened the door and led her in my room. I looked on my bed and made sure the book was hidden. "Do you have anything passed down from your family?" I asked her.
"Yeah I have Astrid's axe and butt load of money." She stated.
"My family's rich too! And I have the Book..." I trailed off.
"What book?" She asked.
I pulled her close and whispered in her ear, "The Book of Dragons..."
