Chapter 17: Going Far From Home!

SCREW FINAL EXAMS! Sorry for the long wait. But I had to study for my upcoming finals and regents for the end of the year. It's been stressing me out a bit since I have to do good on these. But I've done most of them now, so I should be able to update more.

YOOO! Just read the second season mid finale. It was really good. My god. New and old characters are appearing.

Since a good portion of people think the time limit of Ultra Instinct is way too long. I decided to nerfed it. It went from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Again, this is when he's doing nothing. He depletes more energy when he fights. So, his time limit would be shortened again. It depends on what he does that determines how much energy he depletes. But the 10 minutes is a basis for when it expires usually.

"I'm sorry, what did you say? I don't think I heard you correctly."

Vaugh sighed. He should've expected this. "I'll repeat myself. (Y/N), you will be going with Seraphina back to her home until your suspension is over."

(Y/N)'s arms fell limp to his side while his jaw dropped. "B-but why? It seems a bit strange if you ask me..."

"While it does seem strange, I believe that this was the best course of action in this situation. While there were many other options, you probably wouldn't like them." It was eerily quiet after that. Vaughn coughed into his fist before speaking again. "Besides! You get to be with your friend for the entire month. Doesn't that sound exciting~? It's much better than being alone in that apartment back in your hometown."

"I-I guess. But, I don't think Sera's parents would even let a stranger like me in their house."

"Why do you think we were taking so long in my office? I made a few calls and plans with Seraphina's mother, and she gave the ay okay." Vaughn gave a thumbs up while winking.

What.

Vaughn cupped his fingers under his chin. "Now that I think about it, she did say something about you knowing her already. So that's good. Am I right?"

What!? What does he mean he already knows her!

(Y/N) seemed a bit skeptical. "What do you mean I already know her? I'm pretty sure I would've remembered meeting Sera's mother somewhere, but I don't."

"Well, she did tell me that she worked with your parents in the same work department years ago. But that was it. I'm sorry, but that's all she said." Vaughn responded.

Seraphina watched all of this play out on the side. She stiffened up when he heard that she allowed him to stay at their place. Never in a million years would she ever think her mother would agree on this. She knew her family had close relations with his family, but not this close. (Y/N) doesn't seem to remember, though.

"Hey! Want to be friends!"

"S-sure!"

She seemed a bit saddened.

"Alright." (Y/N) rubbed the temples on his face before sighing. He had a bad feeling about this. "I guess I have no choice, then. When do we leave?"
