Unexpected guests had become a normalcy for Clary. Sometimes she had been the guest, sometimes she had been the receiver. Today she was the receiver and, boy, were the guests unexpected...

Jace and Rose.

Now Clary had to admit that Jace wasn't that surprising, but bringing Rose on his way back from getting clothes from Amatis's? Wasn't exactly something that she would have predicted...

But Rose? Rose was another story altogether. She looked like she belonged in an Indiana Jones film. Her guardian formal wear- which consisted of black slacks, a matching blazer, and a white shirt- was drenched in muddy water. The clothes were so dirty that the white shirt looked like it was past washing it back to it's original color. Her hair, an illustrious brown that Clary had always envied, clung to her face in clumps. But as Clary scrutinized her further she soon realized that none of those details compared to her eyes. For they were red.

When Clary noticed her eyes it was like she was looking at a different person. She now saw the lifeless white color of her skin and the fangs peeking out of Rose's attempted smile. That's when it hit Clary. Rose was a vampire.

"Jace, what's going on?" She asked uncertainly.

"Rose needs our help..." Jace said his tone similiar to Clary's.

"What happened... Rose were you bit...?"

Rose's smiled faded. "No, that's the problem I wasn't bit..."

Jace shook his head. "That's impossible. That's the only way you can be turned."

"Then you guys should find a chair because don't I have news for you," Rose laughed drily.

Not really knowing how to respond, Clary beckoned them inside. Clary and the others were staying at the Inquisitor's home. It was a grand home with expensive furniture and endless flights of stairs. They had arrived a few hours ago after getting permission from Alec and Isabelle's father. He had been hesitant to let them come on such short notice, especially with Adrian Ivashkov tagging along, but after a brief explanation of his importance Robert finally complied. The only catch was that Adrian would have to stay at the vampire representative's house. Adrian didn't take it lightly and as a way to cheer him up Simon and Izzy had offered to show him around Alicante.

Clary led them to the living room where Alec and Magnus were laying around flipping through ancient books. Clary didn't know what they were looking for, but Alec had hinted to her and Jace that it had to do with what was going on with Simon. She trusted that whatever they were doing would be revealed to her eventually.

Magnus looked up with inquiry. "What is Miss Hathaway doing here?"

Alec rose his head as well, his face matching Magnus's expression.

"That's what we are trying to figure out..." Jace said flouncing onto an over stuffed armchair. Clary sat on the couch next to Alec. Rose remained standing.

Alec gave a small gasp. "Have you turned?"

"Another thing we are trying to figure out," Jace muttered.

Rose wrapped her arms around herself. "No, I'm not actually a vampire I just look like one..."

"A lot of vampires feel that way, honey. If you're having trouble accepting it we understand," Magnus said sympathetically.

"No, you don't. I was kidnapped by a Greater Demon. Asmodeus."

The whole room froze. That couldn't be right... He was in Edom... Clary glanced at Jace in panic. His face was just as confused.
