"That one looks gorgeous! Kayla don't you think this one looks gorgeous on her?" My mother asked my best friend who was squealing next to her nodding.
"You two have said that about every dress I've tried on. You're not much help." I said bored out of my fricken mind and tired of shopping.
I hate dress shopping. I wish I could go back to yesterday when Bobby bought me five books and then took me to have some ice cream as we walked through town and just hung out the whole day. He walked me home around sunset and stayed to have dinner with my mom and I after my mother ran out of the house and basically didn't give him an option to not stay.
"It's because every dress does look gorgeous on you!" Kayla said.
I walked back into the dressing room and changed back to my normal clothes which consisted of ripped boyfriend jeans and a nice top I had found in the back of my closet.
I peeked out of my dressing room door and saw the coast was clear. This was the time for the perfect escape. I need out of dress shopping after over three hours of it. I needed a huge break and the only way I was going to get it was by running off on my own.
I quickly grabbed my bag and put on my sunglasses and ran out the dressing room and towards the exit doors. I made it out without being spotted by my mother and best friend and smiled to myself as I ran towards the escalator and went to the second floor. I was going to treat myself to a cookies and cream smoothie as a reward for escaping.
I walked to the middle of the mall where the food court was located and looked for the smoothie place. After placing my order I stood to the side and waited and that's when I saw him. I guess the odds weren't on my favor today.
He didn't recognize me because of my sunglasses but when the lady calls out my name for my order he'll hear and know it's me. This sucks. Why of all people did I have to bump into Danny Webber at the mall?
Now is one of those rare moments that I regret ditching my mom and Kayla during a shopping trip. I'd rather be tortured by trying on dresses than have to talk to Danny Webber.
I tried thinking of ways to get my smoothie quick and run off before he could react but there to many things that could go wrong. I could bump into someone. I could slip and fall. I could accidentally spill my smoothie. I could bump into him. There was no way I was getting away without having to talk to him.
Of course I could leave my smoothie and get away now but I really want that smoothie. There was no way I was leaving without my smoothie.
"Hope Meadow!" The lady making the smoothie called and I went to get my smoothie.
"Hope?" Danny asked smiling as he walked over.
"Supp." I said and put my straw through the plastic top of my smoothie.
"I didn't recognize you with the sunglasses." He said.
"I'm trying to not be recognized. My mother and friend have been torturing me for the past three hours and I made my grand escape ten minutes ago." I explain for some reason.
"Oh. That does sound like something you would do." He said chuckling.
"What are you doing here? Isn't this place to 'low class' for someone like you." I said.
"Maribel is dress shopping and I joined her. She's in the shop over there at the moment and I just needed a break from all the different dresses and colors. Especially the sparkly colorful ones." He said.
I laughed. "Seems like we agree on one thing. Dress shopping is not our thing." I said.
"Yeah." He smiled.
