"Bobby watch what you're doing." I said as Bobby stared at Nichole from our lab table.

"When are you going to start helping me get with Nichole?" He asked me.

"Umm...how about when we aren't working on an experiment involving fire." I said getting irritated.

"Right. Sorry." Bobby said looking at what I was doing. "What have you found out so far?"

"That you get easily distracted and are capable of blowing up the whole room without even realizing it." I said.

"I'll pay more attention from now on." He promised. "Why are we doing this experiment anyways? Isn't this chemistry?"

"Yes but if you'd been listening you would know Mr. Good is trying to see who's capable of moving on to chemistry." I said.

"How can I help?"

"Just wait until I'm finished with this." I said.

I continued examining the cells and writing down notes and the description of what I saw. Once I finished I told Bobby to light the candles for the second experiment meanwhile I went and finished with the paperwork of the first experiment. I walked back over to my desk and took a seat looking over my should to make sure Bobby was doing what I asked him. He was drooling over Nichole.

"You do know he isn't going to get anything done right?"

I turned startled and looked at the guy who sat in front of me. He had turned around and saw me looking at Bobby.

"Yeah." I sighed grabbing my pencil and adding more to the description.

"In the last seven weeks since school started I've noticed he gets distracted easily. It's quite funny when he isn't holding matches that could make the room blow up if he accidentally drops one on the wrong thing." The guy said.

I laughed. "Exactly what I was thinking." I said.

He smiled and extended his hand. "I'm Evan." He said.

I took his hand and shook it. "Hope." I said.

"Nice to meet you Hope."

"You're new to town right?" I asked him.

"Yeah. I moved here during the summer." He said. "How did you know?"

"Everyone in this town pretty much knows each other and I had never seen you around town until the first day of school. You were either new to town or you lived in one of the neighboring towns."

"Does everyone really know each other?" He asked.

"Yeah." I looked over his shoulder. "That girl two seats in from of you is Mary. When she was in Kindergarten she swallowed a bug in accident and though she was going to die so she laid on the grass during recess and refused to go back into the classroom. She said that if she was going to die then she would die looking up at the sky. The teacher had to call her parents to come and pick her up early and reassure her she wasn't going to die from accidentally swallowing a fly."

Evan chuckled.

"The kid in the checkered shirt is named Oscar. He's in love with the theater and musicals. He sometimes sings an answer to you if you asked him something." I said. "The guy in the red shirt is Ivan. Everyone thinks he's a total badass and doesn't care about school but he's actually one of the top kids in our graduating class, spends his afternoons playing with his three year old sister, and will probably get a full scholarship to university."
