"How long will the lights be out?" I complained.
"Probably until we can go home. It really is dark in here when there isn't any electricity." Felix said.
"I'm bored." Sutter complained.
"Aren't we all?" Allister asked.
"Lets tell ghost stories!" Felix said.
"No!" Gideon exclaimed.
"Come on Gideon. There's nothing else to do and I'm bored as fuck." Sutter said.
"Language!" Kayla said.
"Sorry." Sutter apologized.
"Since when do you care about the use of bad words?" Harvey asked her and laughed. "You swear all the time."
Everyone started talking except Bobby who was still sitting next to me tapping his fingers on the table. I scooted my chair closer to his. "So you're scared of the dark?" I whispered.
"Yeah." He whispered back.
"Do your friends know?" I asked.
"You're the only friend of mine who knows." He said turned to look at me and making sure our friends weren't paying attention to our hushed conversation.
"I won't say a word." I said. "But I never expected you to be scared of the dark. It's kind of surprising."
"When I was a kid my dad was traveling a lot because of his music career so it was always my mom, me, and my younger siblings. I felt like since I was the oldest of my siblings I needed to act more maturely so I never bothered my mom by telling her I was afraid of the dark. I didn't want to be a bother since I knew it was hard for her to raise three kids all by herself. Eventually I got used to going asleep meanwhile saying to myself that the sooner I fell asleep the sooner I would wake up to the sun shining through the window." He said.
"And the fear just never went away hu?" I asked.
"Nope." He said and chuckled. "I'm fifteen and scared of the dark. I'm lame."
I smiled. "You're not lame. Everyone is scared of something and being scared of the dark isn't that bad compared too..." Bobby looked at me with a raised eyebrows. "Never mind."
"What? Tell me." He said smirking. "What are you scared of?"
"Nope. Not telling." I said.
"I shared my fear so now you share your with me." He said.
"Your fear what kind of obvious once the light went out." I said.
Bobby scooted his chair even closer and leaned closer looking at me in the eyes with a glint in his eyes. "Come on Hope. Tell me what you're most afraid of." He said.
"Nope." I said and grabbed his hand to stop him from drumming his fingers on the table. "That's really annoying."
"Is it spiders?" He asked.
"No." I said.
"Hmm...how about heights?" He asked.
"Heights bother me but that's not what I'm most afraid of. You'll never guess Harris." I said.
"Wanna bet Meadow?" He asked using my last name just like I had used his.
I smirked. "There's no way you'll guess so fine with me." I said.
"If I find out what you're most afraid of you have to do whatever I say for three days." He said. "If you win I have to do whatever you want for three days."
