Lucas' Playlist : "Buried Alive", Yeah Yeah Yeahs

There were three vampires, two females and one male, accompanied by a sorcerer. Had I not felt the magic around him, I would have noticed the tattoos on his neck, which were recognizable for anyone with a knowledge of the occult. It was the end of the night and the clients had begun to leave, but the music was still loud and nobody had noticed them yet. They looked at me and waited still. I told Anna to stay put and walked towards them. "Welcome. Can I help you?"

A redhead vampire replied without a smile: "James told us about your club. We are here to have some Saturday night fun."

"You can have fun, but your kind is not allowed to feed in here."

"Says who?" She showed her teeth.

"It is well-known that The Pearl is off-limits," I said. "Should you try to break this rule, you would have to go through me."

"Am I supposed to be scared?"

"I do not know what this James character told you, but yes, you should be."

I took a step towards her but I knew that they were definitely trouble. Therefore I gave a quick look at Anna. She understood immediately and triggered the fire alarm. The music stopped and Anna said loudly not to worry and to follow her and Lucas towards the emergency exit on the other side of the club. There was no real panic but the clients were a little disoriented at first.

The other female vampire and the male seized the opportunity to move towards the crowd. I grabbed one from behind, snapped her neck and hit the second who fell on the floor. But then I felt a pain in my chest. I turned back: the sorcerer had raised his right hand towards me. The redhead smiled and jumped at another client. She started to feed on him while I could not move. Anna came back quickly through the crowd and stabbed the vampire in the back with a knife. She then tried to stop the sorcerer but he raised his other hand and she was thrown against the wall.

The pain in my chest was getting worse and worse. I fought back and tried to take a step towards the wizard but before I could reach him, he gasped. Patrick had regained consciousness and he had punched him in the back. The sorcerer could not breathe and had lost his grip on his magic. As soon as I could move again, I knocked him unconscious. The redhead vampire moved in an instant and bit Anna. She screamed but she could not escape the grip of the creature. I crushed a chair and stabbed the vampire with a piece of wood. Not to the heart so that she would live, but she was badly hurt. I turned towards the other vampire : "Heal the human."

He hesitated for a second and kneeled beside the man. He bit his own wrist and let the blood drip in the mouth of the victim. The bite marks on his neck disappeared and he regained consciousness. He was terrified.

"Now take your friends and leave. I hope for your sake that I will never see you again. Tell that James that he is not welcome here."

They left and I came closer to the human. He tried to move away from me in a panic. So I smiled at him. "Do not worry. I will not hurt you," I said. I pulled the small blue pendant of my silver necklace in front of him. "Look at the stone. Yes, that is right. You will not remember what just happened. You were in the club when the fire alarm rang. You got lost in the crowd but you have not seen anything wrong. You are safe. You can leave now." He then got up and walked to the exit.

Patrick was with Anna. Her neck was getting black. "Is she ok?" He asked.

"Am I going to die?"

"Of course not. The vampire's bite is poison for us but you can heal with a magical antidote composed with a mixture of blood from another vampire and from another immortal."

"And if we can't produce this antidote?"

"If the poison reaches your heart, you will stay in a perpetual state of unconsciousness and your body will be as stone. But it will not happen, I promise. Can you contact an experienced witch to help with the spell?"

"Yes, I'll text Sonia."

"Alright, and I will find the blood of a vampire. Do not worry."

"Where?"

"Well, we both know one. Patrick, could you close the club and bring her brother upstairs in my office ?"

I helped Anna to climb the stairs and she sat on the leather couch in my office. "Do you have the strength to locate Aidan?" I gave her his exhibition's invitation card. She put it on the coffee table, closed her eyes and concentrated. A map of the city appeared gradually, made of lines of golden light on top of the table. Lucas burst into the room and took Anna in his arms.

Before the map disappeared, a red point glowed, pointing at a small street of the 14th district.
