Lucas' Playlist : "Only You", Ellie Goulding

The address was in a dead end street with climbing ivy on the walls. I rang and Aidan answered. "It is me, Elise," I said. "I am very sorry to bother you that early in the morning but I am afraid I need your help."

The door opened on a courtyard still plunged in the darkness of the night. At the end of it, some light was coming from the glass structure of an old artist studio. Aidan was waiting at the door, barefoot. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a grey T-shirt. "Please, come in," he said.

The room was full of paintings and old objects. A bookshelf covered a whole wall from floor to ceiling, and there was an unfinished work on an easel, with a pile of art supplies all around it. "What can I do for you ?" Aidan said.

"There was a vampire attack at my club. My friend, Anna, is an immortal too and she has been bitten."

"I see. You need my blood?"

"Yes."

"Of course." He smiled.

He took a little glass jar from a cupboard in the hallway, bit his wrist and let his blood dribble. "Will it be enough?"

"I think so, thank you very much."

He nodded. "How did you find me?"

"A locator spell. We were in a hurry."

"Well, now you know where I live. And - he wrote something on a paper - take my number. It will be easier to reach me in the future."

I smiled. "Indeed. Thank you very much for your help." I hesitated. "Aidan, I... I am sorry for the way I left the other night."

He smiled and said softly: "Don't apologize. It was a legitimate reaction."

We stared at each other and I could see in his eyes he wanted to get closer to me. I felt the same way but I had to go. So I broke down the silence. "I cannot stay longer. I am sorry. We do not have much time."

He nodded again and opened the door for me. "I hope that your friend will be ok." Walking towards the exit of the building, I gave a look back and saw that he was still watching me at the door. Leaving the building and walking in the quiet street, I thought about him and what I had briefly seen of his home. I was still intrigued, definitely.

At the Pearl, Anna was lying on the couch. The black stain had extended from her neck wound to a part of her face and her shoulder. She was breathing heavily and Lucas was holding her hand.

Sonia, a very short forty four years old witch with blond hair and heavy jewelry, had prepared everything they needed for the spell. "I have got the blood," I said. I poured it in the bowl, took a knife and opened my own wrist to complete the mixture.

Sonia recited the spell. There was a bright light and then nothing. "It is ready," she said in her high pitched voice.

She took the bowl and made Anna drink the mixture. The young immortal coughed but then the blackness on her neck started to vanish. "Thank you. I already feel better," she said.

Sonia waved her hand as if to say that it was nothing. She took her purse, smiled briefly at us and left without a word.
