Not a Secret Anymore - Minhee💕

"Are you nervous?" Minhee whispered, looking at her intently. 

Y/N shook her head, giving him a bright smile even though she was nervous. Very nervous. But she was going to hide it till the end. She had to act confident because this was what she wanted, wasn't it? It was what they both wanted. 

A few days ago, Starship had announced their dating news. Not because they'd gotten caught by Dispatch or anything... they hadn't. They'd been extremely careful, not wanting to get caught. 

But after dating for months, then a year, then more than a year... the two of them had really wanted to start dating publically. They wanted to stop having to hide. They wanted to do normal couple things, like holding hands in public or going to a crowded movie theater together. 

Today would be day one of that. 

Day one of being a normal couple. At last. 

"You look nervous," Minhee teased, reaching down and taking her hand. He interlaced their fingers, and looking into his eyes, she felt more at ease. "Don't worry," he told her confidently. "I'll protect you." 

Y/N smiled at him. "What exactly are you protecting me from?" she whispered as they walked into the elevator. Though she kept a bright smile on her face, she was gripping his hand tightly. She was nervous, and he was the only thing grounding her at that moment. 

"From crazy fans," he said, giving her a sad smile. "Possessive, sasaeng fans." 

Y/N sighed. "Honestly, why are we still calling them fans at this point? They're not. They're just stalkers. Very strangely possessive stalkers." 

Minhee laughed, and the sound was like music to her ears. She studied his face as they walked out of the elevator and into the company lobby together, hand in hand. Truly, she'd gotten so lucky. He was everything that she could have ever wanted in a boyfriend, and more. 

"You're right, of course, you are," he said, squeezing her hand once before opening the door, leading them out of the company building. 

A part of her had been expecting hoards of fans or reporters waiting outside, ready to attack. That's what she'd been worried about. 

But no one was waiting for them. No one even cared as they exited the company together. 

Y/N let out a breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding. "Where are we going?" she asked Minhee. 

"Hm... where do you want to go? Where do your normal friends go on dates? What do they do?" 

"Well..." she said, considering. She tilted her head to the sky as she thought. "The other day, one of my friends went with her boyfriend on a coffee date. They went to a cafe. That sounds cute, doesn't it?"

"Sounds cute... just like you," he said, winking at her. 

She laughed, covering her face with one hand. She felt herself blushing. "You're such a flirt," she teased. 

"Only to you," he said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. The gesture made her feel giddy. To be out here as a normal couple... it was like a dream. Minhee was like a dream. 

Everything was perfect, for that one moment. 

They found a cafe and had almost made it to the door when fans ran up to them, screaming. Her heart dropped to the floor: shattered. 

Minhee immediately pulled her closer, as if trying to shield her, but it was no use. There were a lot of fans, at least 20 of them. A whole group of sasaengs. 

She knew that his bodyguards had been following them at a distance, but they weren't here yet. She wasn't sure how far behind they'd been following. 

At the back of her mind, she could hear Minhee asking the fans to step back. But they weren't listening. 

One of the fans reached forward, grabbing her hair and pulling her back, out of Minhee's arms. She let out a cry and felt herself get hit with something. Maybe one of their purses. 

When she got hit the second time, she dropped to the floor, covering her head with her hands. Her body was shaking and she could hear Minhee yelling even louder now. 

He crouched down beside her, wrapping his arms around her. "The bodyguards are here," he whispered, pulling her head to his chest. She could hear the rapid beating of his heart, and she knew he was scared as well. 

"Do you still want to go to the cafe?" he whispered. "Or should we go another time? We can come back another time. Maybe we should go home now." 

"I want to go home," she whispered, a tear escaping her. 

"Don't cry," he said gently, holding her tightly. "I got you."

Y/N nodded, wiping at her tears. 

"Let's go on a date some other time, hm? This time we'll have the bodyguards right next to us, okay? We'll be safe." 

"Thank you," she whispered. 

"Let's go home," he said, helping her up. She kept her head down, not wanting to see the stalkers. She feared that she'd freeze up again if she saw them. 

The bodyguards kept them safe as they started to walk back to the company building. 

"I'm sorry," Minhee said after a moment. 

At that, Y/N looked up in surprise. "Why are you sorry? You have nothing to be sorry for." 

"I'm sorry that you have to go through that... the stalker people. It's because I'm an idol. It's because of me-" 

"It's not," she insisted, stopping. She took both of his hands in hers and turned him to face her. "We chose this. I chose this. We decided to be public about our relationship. That's what we both wanted. I wanted it too. I still do. And since it's not a secret anymore, there are some things we'll have to endure. Like this." 

Minhee smiled at her and he leaned forward, kissing her forehead gently. 

"I'll endure anything, as long as I get to be with you," she promised him.
