Eunji held her books tightly in her hand, slowly walking to class. Her headphones were in and she let herself get lost in the music. Her imagination took her away to faraway lands... faraway from school and work and the problems of everyday life. In her imagination, she became a princess, waiting for her prince to return to her. A smile came to her lips, just imagining it.

But someone bumped into her, jolting her out of the daydream. She fell to the floor, dropping all of her books, and worst of all, her phone, cracking the screen protector. The headphones were yanked out of her ears by the fall.

Two boys, running down the hallway. They bumped into her and left, not looking back once.

She huffed, rolling her eyes in annoyance, "boys."

Beside her, someone had crouched down, wordlessly picking up her books.

"Are you alright?" he asked her.

Eunji looked up, her eyes widening when she saw who it was.

Serim. One of the most popular boys in school.

Secretly, she'd always been intimidated by him. He looked serious all the time. He worked really hard at his studies, and was a great student, she heard. A great athlete too. Good at rapping and dancing. His talent, plus his looks, made him loved by everyone immediately.

He didn't talk much. He was pretty quiet, not like the other popular boys, who were loud and boisterois and arrogant.

Serim had always been quiet, respectful, and polite.

And yet she'd always been intimidated by him. He looked kind of cold, probably because he was so serious all the time.

"Are you alright?" he asked her again, holding out his hand.

Eunji accepted his help and got up off of the floor. "Yeah," she said softly. "Yes, I'm alright. Thank you."

Serim nodded, his face serious as always, but concern flickering in his eyes.

"That's good," he whispered, a small smile playing on his lips as he handed her the books and left.

"Hey," someone said, tapping her shoulder.

Eunji spun around to find Serim.

"Hi?" she said, her brow furrowing in confusion. They'd never spoken before; yesterday in the hallway had been the first time.

"I see your phone is still cracked," he said simply, walking by her side.

"Oh," she said, laughing a little. "Actually, I'm new to this area. I have yet to find the phone store."

"I know where it is," Serim said, looking at her intently. "It's really close. Would you like me to take you? If your classes are all finished, we can go now."

Eunji felt herself blushing. She nodded. "That would be amazing," she told him gratefully. "Thank you so much."

"Of course," he said simply. "Let me hold these for you," he told her, reaching out and taking her books.

She felt her blush intensify.

It had been stupid to be intimidated by him. The more she was with him, the more she realized that under that cool, calm, serious exterior, was a very sweet young man.

- a week later -

Eunji stared at the note in her hands.

"Meet me outside the science labs. Under that giant tree, you know the one. I'll be waiting. From, Serim."

She bit her lip, trying to keep the giant smile off of her face, trying to hide, even from herself, how giddy the note made her.

"You silly girl," she whispered to herself. "It's probably nothing."

"But..." she said, responding to herself. "What else could it be?"

"You have hardly spoken to him all week," she argued, chastising herself. "Don't get yourself hopeful over nothing."

She tried to warn herself, but still, when she saw him sitting under the tree, her heart did a somersault, and she had to resist the urge to run up to him.

"Hi," Eunji said, walking over and sitting down beside him. She tilted her head, peering at him. Worry was on every corner of his face. "Is everything alright?" she asked, feeling herself grow worried as well.

"Eunji," he said, looking up at her after a moment. "Have you ever noticed me?"

She laughed. "What? Of course I have. You're like, the most popular boy in school."

"No," he said, shaking his head. "But did you ever notice me?"

Her heart skipped a beat, but he was talking again before she got a chance to answer.

"I noticed you," he whispered.

"What?" she said softly. "When? How?"

He gave her a sad smile. "It's been a while now. Even though we never really talked, you seemed so sweet, I couldn't help noticing you. And... the more I paid attention to you... the more I fell for you."

Her heart fluttered at his words.

"I like you," he continued. "I like you, and I want to be your boyfriend. Will you be my girlfriend?"

This time, Eunji didn't bother to keep the giddy smile off her face. She didn't hesitate to throw her arms around him and hug him tightly.

And right away, he wrapped his arms around her too, hugging her back.

"I like you too," she whispered. "And I'd love to be your girlfriend."

The smile he gave her when she said that... her heart skipped a beat.

Her boyfriend.

The boy who seemed cold, but had a smile that could light up the world.

Notes:

I was thinking of maybe someday expanding this one?

I've been watching Goblin recently (I just watched episode 15 and it made me CRY and the preview for episode 16 looks so sad I BETTER GET A HAPPY ENDING😭) and I've been wanting to write a story where Serim is a guardian angel and falls for the girl he's protecting... so maybe I'll take these characters and parts of the imagine and do that??

IDK.

I'll think about it.

If I end up doing it, it'll probably be after I finish She's Gone though. Idk why but I like having one fanfic going on at a time (per group)... maybe this way to make sure I finish it😂

Anyways thanks for reading, and I hope you liked the imagine💖
