It had been a long day at the manor, many matches took place and even the hunters were tired at this point. You would think everyone would be exhausted and the truth is they were- well mostly all except Edgar Valden who was used to working long hours and had sleeping problems. Edgar laid in his bed with one arm over his eye and the other reaching to the floor, it was official he once again could not sleep and would most likely spend yet another night restless.

Edgar laid there facing the ceiling lost into his own thoughts, new ideas and things that comforted him took his attention away from sleeping. Edgar stayed quiet since his boyfriend Luca Balsa was fast asleep and had been exhausted from matches earlier much like the rest of people at the manor. After accepting the fact that he was most likely not going to sleep he got out of bed making sure to be careful to not wake up his boyfriend. He walked across the room to their balcony and went to relax out there for a bit, the waves of fresh air slowly swayed his hair. It was peaceful. The cold air brushed lightly against his cheeks and the stars glizened before him, he sighed contently-he could get used to this. A few minutes later he felt his arms wrap around him, he turned back to be faced with Luca.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" Edgar asked.

"kinda but it's alright" Luca smiled.

"Let me guess, sleeping troubles?" Luca guessed, Edgar nodded his head.

"Well then why don't I read you a story" Luca suggested.

Edgar thought for a moment before agreeing and then took Luca's hand and entered back into the warm room, he missed the breeze but knew he would be able to experience it again so he followed Luca inside- besides Luca was one of the most important things to him other than art. Luca grabbed a book and Edgar cuddled up close to listen. Edgar was very picky about what he liked, things like people and their voices were included in that. Edgar didn't like a lot of people because of his past, but for some reason Luca brought him the most comfort. Edgar liked the sound of Luca's voice, it was like music to his ears that's why he enjoys hearing things from Luca. Edgar wasn't like this with anyone though, only Luca and a few other close friends-most people didn't like Edgar and he didn't like them back. It was weird since everyone loved Luca the saying opposites attract really connects here. Luca knew Edgar best and was convinced a couple of minutes of reading would put Edgar to sleep- he was right. A bit after Luca started reading Edgar was fast asleep in his arms but the one thing he didn't expect was that he put himself asleep too. So there they were, laying in each other's arms with the book now on the floor- I mean who needs a book when you can write your own story after all. However this wasn't the first page of their story it was one among the many pages, but it was a story they would never forget or get bored of and it truly was a piece of art.
