Chapter 40

Previously on 'Can, You Feel It?'

The family shrugged their shoulders and began their drumroll it had went on for a few seconds before Gabby cupped her hands around her mouth.

"Come in!!"

Everything was silent for a few seconds before the front door slowly opened and a figure slowly walked in.

"Samara?!"

"Mom?!"

Marie had come out of her state of shock faster than raeni had, in no time she was in her sister's arms with her arms wrapped around her neck, her legs wrapped around her waist, dry sobbing. 

Raeni could only stare she had dreamed of this moment for most of her life, she had never known or got to meet her mother and she never thought she'd be able to. 

Before she met Gabby she believed that death was something you couldn't escape but here her mother was proving that that was no longer the truth.

"Shit." Marie said letting go of her sister and best friend, "Raeni you never got to meet Raeni."

"Raeni?" Samara said looking at the group of people across from her.

Samara could easily tell which one was her daughter and not because of the color of her skin, yes Raeni was darker than the rest but she looked like a perfect mix of her and her love Caius.

Raeni ran into her mothers awaiting arms burying her face into her chest, finally, she was able to experience a mother's embrace.

Marie was a good guardian and a great aunt but she wasn't Raeni's mother and she never tried to be, Marie was the cool aunt all the time.

"You've grown beautifully," Samara whispered running her fingers through Raeni's wig. "You look a lot like your father."

"He's here in Forks," Raeni whispered. "Dad came for the wedding."

Samara froze at the thought of being able to see the love of her life and the father of her child.

"Caius... Caius is here?"

"He's in his hotel room right now trying to decide if he should come over or not," Alice says to the mother daughter duo. "He misses Raeni and the twins, but doesn't want Raeni to think he's smothering her."

"Would you like to see dad again?"

"Did he bring that wife of his?"

"No," Raeni said not even bothering to hide her laugh, from what she's heard from her father and others that ladies a nightmare disguised with blonde hair and a sweet smile. "They broke up recently.. he even kicked her out the castle."

"I thought the old bat never would... yeah I'd like to see him again."

Raeni pulled away from her mother's embrace before reaching into her back pocket grabbing her phone and dialing her father's new number.

"Hello, my dear Raeni." He said once he answered the phone. "I was just thinking about you."

"I know, I want you to come over I have a surprise for you."

"A surprise?... What surprise?" He asked not sure what she could possibly have for him.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you now would it?" Raeni said raising an eyebrow. "Just come over to the Cullen's and I promise you'll love it."

"I'll be there in a few minutes." He said before hanging up his phone.

To say Caius was nervous was an understatement, he had never been one for surprises well except for Raeni she was most definitely a good and unexpected surprise.

The man brushed his hair putting it into a low ponytail and grabbed a plain black Nike jacket ready to leave when he was stopped by Marcus.

"Where are you going?"

"To see Raeni she said she has a surprise for me." 

"Do you mind if I come?" Marcus asked after a few moments of silence. "I love the disturbed look on your face every time you're surprised, especially when it's a bad surprise."

Caius gave his brother a blank look before reluctantly nodding his head letting Marcus know that he didn't really mind.

It took the brothers five minutes to get to the Cullen's house and when they did get there everything was silent something that Caius didn't think much about, it was a known fact that vampires were light on their feet.

Before they could knock on the door Raeni was there pulling the two men into a tight hug.

"I missed you guys, now come on your surprise is in the kitchen. The Cullen's, the twins, and Aunt Marie left not too long ago they thought this should be an immediate family thing."

This confused Caius even more.

When the three men arrived in the kitchen Caius looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Samara... how? Who's responsible for this... this trickery?" Caius had gone from confused to angry in seconds not sure what was going on.

"Cai... it's me." Samara said slowly approaching the man. "Raeni's friend can bring back the dead... that's her gift, that's why I'm here.

Caius looked at the love of his in disbelief before pulling her into a tight hug dry sobbing as he buried his face into her hair. 

"I had left... and when I came back for you Marie told me you had died. I never thought I'd see you again Mara... you look just as beautiful as you did back then except...."

Caius's eyes narrowed at Samara's chest there was no heartbeat and for the first time, he realized Samara's body temperature matched his own.

"...You're a vampire."

"Gabby can bring anyone back from the dead as long as they're okay with being a vampire. "Samara confessed. "I accepted without hesitation... I missed over two hundred years of our daughter's life and being without the two of you was hell."

"Hey ya'll I'm sorry to barge in I just came for some of my lingerie there was this sexy guy in town and I just wanna fu-" Marie froze when she looked into Marcus's eyes the eyes of her mate. "Fuck!"

And I oop! I just know Marie's embarrassed. I'm so happy like you'll have no idea now Marcus won't be so depressed and Marie can settle down somewhere. 

In the last Twilight movie when Marcus was being torn in two, he said finally and at first, I was like you're a king you should be fighting for your people just because you want to die doesn't mean your followers do. But then I was like this man is so suicidal he really just doesn't care about anything and that bothered me. 

So in this story, I was like I'm going to give you someone who is the exact opposite of you and turn that frown upside down. TBH you should've known I was going to do something like this when I said Aro's sister was Marcus's best friend not mate.

I also wanted you all to know this book will have 42 Chapters and about 10 bonus chapters something I'm almost done with so sadly the book is almost coming to an end.
