Chapter 5

"Raeni.......Raeni....... Raeni"

"What do you want Emmett?!" She said quickly walking out of the school and towards her car.

"How long are you going to ignore me." He said grabbing her arm forcing her to stop.

"I'm not ignoring you I just don't have anything to talk to you about."

"Are you upset because I can't keep Edward away from Bella," Emmett asks in disbelief. "He's like a brother to me but that doesn't mean I can control his actions. He's his own person and if you don't like that or don't understand that then I'm sorry but I'm not changing my mind."

Raeni sighed before turning around to look at Emmett.

"You're right I'm sorry. I shouldn't have put you in a tough spot." She said looking at the ground. "I just don't want the Volturi to find me especially because of a human."

"They'd have to go through me to get to you." He said making Raeni's heart skip a beat.

"Thank you, Emmett." She said kissing his cheek before continuing to walk to her car. "Are you coming."

Emmett got a goofy grin on his face before quickly following after the chocolate skinned girl and jumping into the passenger seat.

"I want you to meet my parents," Emmett said once they left the school causing Raeni to accidentally slam on her breaks.

"Are you okay?"

"Meet your parents?! Don't you think it's too soon for that? I mean we aren't even together. Do you think they'll like me?" Raeni asked almost ready to pull her hair out. "I've never met anyone's parents before. I've never even met my own."

Emmett didn't mean to laugh but he couldn't help himself. It wasn't funny that she'd never gotten the chance to meet her family but he didn't think she'd freak out the way she was now.

"Did I say something funny? Do I seem like a joke to you?!" She said kind of offended.

"No of course not," Emmett said. "I just didn't expect you to freak out. How about we talk some when we get to your house and out of this car. We wouldn't want you to wreck your car with your random stops."

"Right." Raeni agreed beginning to drive again.

It only took the two about five minutes to get to Raeni's house because she did 70 on a 20 the whole way to her house.

The two sat across from each other on two separate couches while Raeni tried to digest the fact that Emmett wanted her to meet his parents.

"Is this mandatory."

"Of course not."

"So I don't have to go?" Raeni asked with a hopeful smile.

"I'd appreciate it if you did," Emmett said with a smile before his face turned serious. "How come you've never met your dad..... if you don't mind me asking."

"He doesn't know I exist, and my aunt won't tell me who he is, but she did tell me he's a powerful 'move nonm blan' meaning he's a bad white man," Raeni says sadly. "But she always says he and mom were in love, they had to be a secret though because she was human. Then he had to leave so she could live but he left before mom found out she was pregnant. The rest is history."

"Do you want to find him?"

"Of course but I've been looking for over a hundred years with not much to go off of."

"How about I help you," Emmett suggested.

"You'd do that for me?"

"Of course I will. I can tell finding your father means a lot to you."

Before Raeni could stop herself she was on the other couch with her arms wrapped around Emmett's neck.

"Thank you thank you thank you!"

"Your welcome," Emmett said before Raeni pulled away and returned to the other couch. "So what do you know about him so far?"

"I know he's caucasian and I'm assuming he has plant based powers like me that would explain why my aunt said he was powerful," Raeni said before pausing. "He might've had green eyes like mine before he turned because no offense but that's a caucasian trait and my mom's side of the family isn't."

"I figured," Emmett said with a small laugh. "Anything else?"

"I think he was blonde."

"Why do you think that?"

Raeni didn't answer instead she moved most of her hair to the left side to reveal a blonde streak of hair.

"It's been there for as long as I can remember I was born with it."

"That's blonde," Emmett said surprised with wide eyes.

"No duh."

"Okay, we can talk to Carlisle about your father and see if he knows anyone who matches his description when you come and meet my family."

"You're still going on about that?" Raeni asked rolling her eyes. "Fine, I'll come because this is important to you. Tell me when you want me to come and I'll be there."

Right when she said that Emmett got a text message. He looked down reading the message before looking back at Raeni.

"How about this Saturday?"
