Can You Feel It?

Chapter 8

Raeni decided not to leave her aunts the next day... or the day after. She was having to much fun soaking in the sunlight, something Forks didn't have much of. 

Raeni was living the life, she got to walk around her private beach naked without having to worry about prying eyes, and being around her people's festive music and foods again reminded her of why she loved her home so much.

But she knew this wasn't going to last forever and she couldn't stay for too long and that's why she currently stood in her room slowly but surely packing her bag.

She'd be lying if she said she didn't miss Forks just a little bit.... okay that's a lie maybe she didn't miss Forks but she missed the people in Forks. Well, a select few, Emmett was constantly on her mind, and she kind of missed Gabby.

"Are you ready to go?" Marie asked Raeni pulling her out of her thoughts.

"If I didn't know better I'd say you were trying to get rid of me, Auntie."

"You have a mate waiting for you in Forks and even though I've never met my mate I can still have a little fun."

"Gross Tt you're over 200 years old and I'm sure if this guy knew you were older than a couple of his ancestors he wouldn't want to have any fun with you.... unless he's into that sort of thing."

"What the hell are kids saying nowadays? Stop being a hater Raeni!"

Both women laughed before Marie pulled Raeni into a tight hug.

"I'm going to miss you kid next time don't take 50 years to visit me again."

"I won't, I promise."

"And next time you do decide to grace me with your presence bring Emmett, I want to see those beefy arms you told me about."

"I'm leaving now," Raeni said closing her duffle bag and putting it on her shoulder.

With one last wave and a small smile, Raeni was running through the town and back to her boat.

She wasn't too worried about being seen because it was already 9:30 p.m. and let's be honest if someone did just so happen to see her nobody would believe that there was a woman running through the city at superhuman speed.

Before Raeni knew it she was back on her boat sailing towards Florida.

Raeni walked into her house slamming the door behind her she was pissed.

On her way home Raeni had tripped on a rock which led her to not so gracefully tripping and falling.

She wasn't mad that she had dirt all over her face and her leg had a scratch that hadn't healed yet, she was mad because the shirt that Emmett had picked out for her was covered in grass stains.

Do you know how hard it is to get grass stains out of your clothes?!

"Why are you in my house?" Raeni asked when she walked into her living room to see Emmett sitting on a couch with his legs on the coffee table watching an episode of The Vampire Diaries.

"You're right the Vampire Diaries is a decent show, it's crazy inaccurate and Elena does suck but the shows decent."

"Elena does suck but you still haven't told me why your in my house, but before you answer I'm gonna ask you once to remove your feet from my table."

Emmett quickly removed his feet from her table not wanting to know what'll happen if she has to ask a second time.

"Alice said you were supposed to be back hours ago and besides you haven't texted or called since you decided to run cross country literally," Emmett said with a small glare. "So I came over and decided to wait, what were you doing in the Bahamas anyway?

"Before we play 21 questions I'm about to get in the shower but be warned when I come back I-"

"You'll be wearing little to no clothes because your room is a no clothes zone and you don't like wearing clothes so you'll wear as little as possible," Emmett said causing Raeni to roll her eyes.

"Aww, you remembered.... smart ass." She said before taking her leave.

After a long hot shower, Raeni put on a big grey Nike sweatshirt that barely reached her knees before heading back to the living room where Emmett was patiently waiting.

She could barely sit before Emmett asked his first question.

"So why'd you go to the Bahamas?"

"I needed answers about the whole Caius being my father thing, so I went to visit my Auntie Marie."

"And she gave you the answers you were looking for right? Because it would suck if you went all the way to the Bahamas for nothing."

"Yes she confirmed what Carlisle said, Caius is my birth father."

"Are you going to go to him? If you are you know I'll go and support you."

"Why do I feel like there's a but at the end of that sentence?" Raeni said crossing her arms.

Raeni didn't plan on going to see Caius any time soon but if she wanted to why shouldn't she?

Yeah, he's sometimes considered a bad guy but so was the joker.

Ok maybe that isn't the best example but he wasn't always crazy and messed up in the head.

In some versions of the story, Batman was the one who made him fall into a bunch of toxic chemicals and in some versions, he had mental health issues that went unchecked.

The point is she didn't know Caius's  Story so she felt she had no right to judge, she wouldn't like it if someone judged her without getting to know her.

"I just don't think you should see him yet," Emmett said shrugging his shoulders and not meeting her eyes. "I think that maybe you should take some time to get mentally and emotionally prepared."

"Are you trying to say that I'm not mentally and emotionally stable?"

Before Emmett could answer he was saved by his phone ringing.

"Hey, Alice."

"Hey, Carlisle wants you to come home," Alice said before quickly hanging up.

Alice had seen what Emmett was about to say and it led nowhere good so she lied so he'd come home.

Problem Avoided.

"Carlisle needs me so I've got to go, but I'll see you tomorrow at school," Emmett said kissing Raeni's cheek and running out of the door.

Alice was full of shit and Raeni and Emmett both knew it.
