Can You Feel It?

Chapter 11

Forty-five minutes later Emmett began gently shaking Raeni's shoulders. They had arrived at Beaver Falls and that meant their date could begin.

The sixteen minute drive had quickly become a forty-five minute drive thanks to traffic.

"Wake up Rae."

"I don't want to." She whined weakly moving his hand away.

"I guess I'll have to continue our date on my own."

Raeni's eyes snapped open and she quickly sat up to see that she was surrounded by nature.

"Are you ready to eat? The sooner you eat the sooner we can swim."

"I love to eat!" Raeni said getting out of the car.

A few feet in front of the car there was a spread out red and black checkered blanket with a picnic basket sitting in the middle.

Raeni couldn't stop the smile that spread across her face, she hadn't been on a picnic since she was a little girl.

Once she and Emmett where seated Raeni opened the basket pulling out a container of lasagna and a separate container of cupcakes.

She took a bite of the lasagna and she felt like she was in heaven, for not having the ability to taste food Esme still knew how to work her way around a kitchen.

"Do you want a bite Em?"

"Regular food doesn't taste good to regular vampires, the last time I had normal food I was sick for days."

"Oh, right I have something for that," Raeni said digging through her purse and pulling out a test tube.

"Try this."

"What is it?" Emmett asked eyeing the glass wearily.

"This is dried out Hyssop." She said sprinkling some of the slower over the food. "Okay try it now."

Emmett slowly took the container of lasagna and the fork out of Raeni's hands like they would burn him.

"Go on you big baby you'll be fine."

"I guess we'll find out won't we," Emmett said before quickly putting a fork full of lasagna into his mouth.

Right then Emmett realized two things one he wasn't throwing up his guts and two he could actually taste the food and it didn't taste like dirt.

"Holy shit!" Emmett said unable to contain his excitement. "What did you?!..... How did you?!..... Holy shit!"

"When I was traveling around Europe a few years ago I came across a field of these and because of my abilities I could immediately tell they had magical properties," Raeni explained smiling fondly thinking about her time in Europe. "I went to the field every day to research and observe the flowers when I ran into another coven and they explained how they used the flowers to eat normal food. If a regular vampire eats the flower with their food not only will they be able to taste the food but they'll also be able to get full off the food."

"So I won't have to drink blood anymore?"

"Yes and no..... you'd have to drink blood once a week to keep your body up and running but besides that, you'll be fine."

"That's great!" Emmett said after sprinkling some of the flower over a cupcake and taking a bite. "Why are you just now bringing this to my attention?...... Now I can try hot wings when I watch the game on Sunday!"

Raeni took a napkin from the basket before taking Emmett's face in between her hands. She wiped away the icing and tomato sauce off his face with a small smile.

"How about before we leave I grow some more Hyssops and I'll give them to Esme."

"That'll be great but how about that swim first?"

"That sounds great," Raeni said before standing up and pulling off her dress to reveal her all white bikini. (Pic in previous chapter)

"My eyes are up here sir."

Emmett couldn't help but admire his mate, not only did she have a great personality but she also had a great body, one that a lot of females would kill for.

"I know exactly where your eyes are ma'am." He said removing everything except his swim shorts. "But I don't think you know where my eyes are."

Raeni couldn't help but blush this wasn't the first time she had been caught admiring Emmett's body.

She decided not to take Emmett's bait instead she got in the water admiring the plants below the surface.

Raeni was so distracted she didn't even notice Emmett had gotten into the water until he grabbed her ankle causing her to panic.

"Don't do that!" She yelled hitting his chest once they resurfaced. "I could've had a heart attack you ass!"

"I'm sorry Rae." He said pouting a bit. "Do you forgive me?"

"Of course."

Emmett had believed he was forgiven until a plant from underneath the water wrapped around his ankle pulling him back to the bottom of the lake.

"Okay, now your forgiven," Raeni said in between laughs once he came back up.

"I could've drowned."

"Okay, but did you die..... no because you're already dead," Raeni said before swimming closer to Emmett wrapping her arms around his neck. "Quit being a baby. You know I could never hurt you for real."

"Is that because I'm your favorite person?" Emmett asked wrapping his arms around her waist.

"I don't know about favorite but you're a close sec-"

Before Raeni could finish Emmett's lips were on hers, a kiss that soon became heated.

Raeni wrapped her legs around Emmett's waist causing him to moan in her mouth.

His lips couldn't help but travel from her lips to her neck, then to her collar bone sucking dark purple marks into her skin.

"We've got to stop," Raeni said not able to stop the moan the followed.

"Why?"

Emmett's voice had gone dark and husky causing her to tighten her legs around his waist.

"I want our first time to be special, not in some lake Em." She said finally able to pull away. "First off having sex in a lake is unsanitary and it isn't romantic. I want my first time to be romantic you know, a night to remember."

"First time?!" Emmett said shocked. "You're a virgin?!"

"You're not?!"

"No.," Emmett said shrugging his shoulders as if it wasn't a big deal, but by the look on Raeni's face he could tell that was a mistake. "Ra-"

"I wanna take a walk," Raeni said getting out the lake with Emmett trailing behind her.

"I'll come wi-"

"I want to walk alone." She said walking off not bothering to wait for a response.

Raeni knew to some she was making a big deal out of nothing but she couldn't help but feel heartbroken.

All vampires know that they have another half somewhere so they don't partake in sexual activities so when they do meet their mate it's special for both sides.

Emmett had ruined that by giving his virginity away to a nobody and the thought of another female having Emmett the way that only she was supposed to pissed her off even more.

Raeni had punched a random tree before staring at it with wide eyes.

"I'm sorry." She said feeling the tree's pained emotions. "You didn't do anything to deserve that."

Raeni sat at the base of the tree having an eternal argument with herself until she broke down in tears.
