10. Proceedings

Previously: The first day of the trial didn't go as planned. Derek came over and shared his trauma. It was going well until Derek kissed you, which caused you to make him leave and lash out at in through text.

TW: Mentions of rape, miscarriage, blood, suicide threats, and physical abuse.

During the two 'free' days they finally found a replacement juror. For the past two days you didn't wanna get out of bed. But you had to. You showered but never changed out of your pj's. You ate little things throughout the day.

You make yourself look presentable. You put your hair up the same way as last time, along with a black pencil skirt, nude pantyhose, black close-toed heels, a white blouse, and a black blazer to go over the blouse. You added a watch and your small diamond studs. You threw on some simple makeup.

You grabbed your necessities and left. You drive by Dunks and got your usual order. You were dreading this. Was this the day that everything would be out in the open? You finally arrive to the courthouse. You turn the car off and place your head on your hands on the wheel. Your thoughts are interrupted by tapping on the window. You look up to see Julia, your lawyer. You grab your things and get out of your car.

Stevens: "Are you ok?"

Y/N: "Yeah, I'm fine. I just needed to gather my thoughts." You say shutting your door and locking your car.

Stevens: "Are you sure? You're going to be displaying everything in front of a group of strangers."

Y/N: "Yeah, I'm fine."

Stevens: "Let's go shall we?"

Y/N: "Yeah."  You say in a hushed tone.

You and Julia head inside and back into the private room until it was time for you both to go in. After about 20 minutes you were called in. Rossi, Spencer, Hotch, JJ, Emily, and Penelope were in their usual seats.

You head into the courtroom and take a seat where you were two days before. It wasn't much longer until Nick showed up along with Judge Nichols.

Judge Nichols: "I hope everyone enjoyed their time off. Today we proceed with the statements, evidence, and maybe we'll finish this up today. Y/N, would you like to go first?"

Y/N: "Yes, Your Honor." You say as you stand up.

Stevens: "Remember to breathe."

Judge Nichols: "You may come up here and take a seat."

Y/N: "Thank you Your Honor." You say while walking to the seat section next to the judge.

Judge Nichols: "Do you vow to say the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"

Y/N: "Yes Your Honor, I vow to say the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

Judge Nichols: "Okay, thank you. You can start from the beginning, you can take your time."

You take a few breaths before re-telling your story for the millionth time. Okay maybe not the millionth time, but it feels like it.
