32. Moving Day

Previously: You officially end things with Spencer and you looked at a new apartment.

It's been a few days. A day after viewing the apartment, Carol called and informed you that your application was approved, the apartment is now officially yours. You ordered a U-Haul for three days. One day to load everything, one to unload everything into the new apartment, and one to return it. Derek of course offered to help load everything into the truck, he kept insisting until you said yes. Now onto present time.

You got the U-Haul and Derek waited at your old apartment. You informed Spencer the day before that you were taking all if not most of everything out of the old apartment considering you bought everything that's there already. This was going to take all day. You unlocked the door and sighed. So much to do yet so little time. It was decided to get all the heavy things out of the way then the lighter things.

Everything heavy in the bedroom went in first, then the living room. At this point the truck was halfway full. Now onto the lighter stuff. You helped Derek grab empty boxes from his car and put them together. One box had books, another had bathroom supplies, then two other boxes had kitchen supplies, then you had a few trash bags full of your clothes and shoes.. At this point you were extremely exhausted. So was Derek, and it was only three o'clock. You were both starving considering you two only had breakfast. You and Derek put the last two boxes on the truck and you closes the back of the truck then locked the back. You both exhale a sigh then chuckle a bit.

Y/N: "Thank you for helping me out with this today, and volunteering to help tomorrow."

Derek: "It's no problem, really."

Y/N: "I'll drive this to my new apartment, you can follow me, then we can drive back to yours and dinner will be on me tonight and tomorrow?"

Derek: "Or, I can drive the U-Haul, you can drive my car, we unload the light stuff, get back to my place and dinner will be on you tonight?"

Y/N: "Are you sure?"

Derek: "Absolutely ."

Y/N: "If you say so bald man."

Derek: "Did you just call me bald man?"

Y/N: "I did, what're you gonna do about it? Bald man." You say tauntingly.

Derek: "You're gonna regret that Monroe."

Y/N: "Am I? Bald man?" You say enunciating more clearly along with a smirk.

Derek: "I'm gonna tickle you when I get you Monroe."

Y/N: "You wouldn't."

Derek: "You wanna bet?" He says walking towards you.

Y/N: "Oh shit." You say to yourself.

You begin to run away from Derek but he ends up catching you and tickling you. Your gut ends up hurting from laughing so hard. At some point you both had rolled around and Derek was hovering over you. You both stare into each other's eyes for a moment then get up and cough awkwardly.

Y/N: "We should um..." You say gesturing to the U-Haul.

Derek: "Yeah, we should." He said rubbing the back of his neck.

As discussed, you and Derek unloaded all of the lighter things then went back to his place and you bought dinner, which was Chinese food. Derek brought out a few beers once the food arrived and you placed the food on the dining table after tipping the driver.
