5. Girls Day

Previously: You were receiving your gun and holster from Hotch when you heard the voice of someone you'd rather forget about. Penelope came up with the idea of a girl's day and night out.

You, JJ, Penelope, and Emily head towards Penelope's car. Everyone hops in and buckles in.

Penelope: "What mall am I driving to??"

JJ: "Emily and I know a good one, the Waterridge Mall!"

Prentiss: "Oou that's such a good one!"

Penelope: "To Waterridge we go!"

Penelope starts the car, turns on her GPS, and starts driving.

Prentiss: "Are you ok Y/N? You seem quiet."

Y/N: "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just been an unpredictable morning."

Prentiss: "Ahh gotcha."

JJ: "So Y/N, what got you into joining the BAU in the FBI?"

Y/N: "My grandpa. He used to work here a long time ago, he died a while ago."

Penelope: "Wait, you're not talking about Jason Gideon are you??"

Y/N: "The one and only."

Prentiss: "But your last name is Monroe?"

Y/N: "I changed it, I didn't want any freebies joining the FBI. I wanted to earn my way into the BAU."

JJ: "That makes sense."

Y/N: "Did any of you know him?"

Penelope: "Of course we did, we all worked closely with him!"

Y/N: "He never liked to talk about work whenever I visited, he always taught me about the different types of birds he saw."

Prentiss: "Yep that definitely sounds like Gideon." She flashes you a smile.

You and the girls talk about Gideon and what he was like at the BAU. After a few minutes of talking you feel a buzz from your phone. You check the name and it's from Spencer.

After the quick conversation with Spencer, you put your phone away and start to smile a little and JJ notices. She nudges you and whispers.

JJ: "What's the smile for?"

Y/N: "Spencer, he checked up on me because he heard about what happened."
