A week later

It's been a week since I bumped into Jaden.
Since then, I've been seeing him everywhere. He wasn't in my class, he studied a language direction in our high school, and I studied math. We only had English and Economics together.
He was a new student in our school, and apparently I had been the first person that he had talked to.
Jaden appearantly thought that our awkward first conversation was a good reason to come sit next to me in English class. Little did he know that I was bullied. But whenever he was sitting next to me (he sat down next to me whenever we had the same class, odd, I know), the bullies left me alone. I have seen Jenna looking at me and Jaden, with her eyes full of jealousy. It made me happy to finally see her suffer a bit.
Did that make me a bad person?
"Hey Lisha!" I looked up from my seat and saw Jaden heading for me. "Hey, you! How are you?" I asked him. He told me he was doing good. "Only because I saw you" he added with a wink. I rolled my eyes at him and smirked. He always made these stupid flirts, that was just the way he talked. I was already used to it.
To be honest, I was getting used to having a friend at school very fast. So fast, that I was scared to lose him. I was scared he'd realize that I was not loved, not even liked around here. I was scared he'd leave me for some other, safer, friends.
Life was easier when you're all alone.

It was Chemistry class now. I was sitting alone again, on the front row. Max had been throwing little spitballs at me, that kept getting stuck on my curly hair. I had turned around several times by now, but Max didn't care. The more I seemed to get irritated by it, the more he and his new girlfriend, Anna, seemed to enjoy it, together with some other people sitting close to us. The teacher wasn't aware of it, or she ignored it.
Twenty minutes and at least 15 spit balls later, I couldn't take it anymore. I got up, turned around and started yelling at Max: "For God's sake! Just stop it! How would you like it to happen to you, huh? Just stop it, it's not even fun anymore. Look, even Anna is bored!" I pointed to her. Anna rather looked scared of my sudden reaction. The whole class had fallen still, and the big smile had vanished from Max's face. "Here," I continued, and threw his pencil case on the ground. Then I took his book and swiped it off the table too. "So how is that now, huh?" Max looked like he could burst of anger any second. "Yeah, that's what I thought."
I turned around to see miss Adams staring at me with fury in her eyes. She looked like those little chihuahua dogs, with eyes popping out of her head.
"This is unacceptable!" she yelled at me. Excuse me? My jaw dropped at her. "Ma'am, I was just-"
"No!" She didn't let me finish. "Disturbing my class like that, with violence and yelling! How dare you, I really did not expect this from you, Alisha!" I opened my mouth again to tell her why I did this, but she said "No, don't say anything more, you've said enough today, Alisha! Go to the headmaster's, he will decide what to do with students like you."
In disbelief, and full of rage, I packed my bag, while the whole class was giggling . When I was at the door, I heard miss Adams yell at me: "And I don't want to see your face again today!" I rolled my eyes and didn't answer.

The headmaster was busy in some meeting, so I had to wait outside of his room. I sat down in one of the comfortable green seats and took out my phone to scroll through tik tok.
"Wow," I heard a voice, "you're like the last person that I expected here." A smile appeared on my face when hearing his voice. "Jaden! What are you doing here?" I asked him. I wanted to hug him, he made my day. He looked at my hair with wrinkles in his forehead. "Are those spitballs?" he asked me. "Pffttt yeah... Max thought it was funny." I rolled my eyes.
"Anyways," I said, wanting to change the subject, "what are you doing here? Did you put something on fire?"
"No, no, I have that planned for tomorrow," Jaden said with a smirk, "I have some last few papers to fill in as a new student here, that's all." Something seemed to bother him. "I really didn't think Max would do this, honestly. He was cool to me the other day, he gave me his notes from last semester."
"Yeah, he's an ass," I replied. A silence fell. Jaden sat down and put his backpack down on the ground. "So why are you here, Lisha?" I sighed. "I stood up for myself and disturbed the class a bit," I replied truthfully. Jaden laughed. "Idiots," he said.
Yeah, idiots.
