Deven's perspective.
"Beep, beep, beep, beep!"
"What?" I growled. "Deven were going to be late." The young master whined. I rolled over and rubbed my face. 'Jesus, why did I become his kids nanny?'
"Ok." I sighed getting up dressing myself and geling my hair back. The young master eyeballed me the entire time. It kinda creeped me out.
"Are you ready?" He nodded and we headed out to the car. When ever I take Cody to school, it's just us-no other guards.
"Deven!" He squeaked from the back seat. "Promise me you'll look after Lucas today?" I gripped the steering wheel. 'Is he crazy?! Me. Look after that beast?' I thought looking in the rear view mirror seeing his 'puppy dog' face. I couldn't say no. "Fine." I exhaled as he started to cheer.
The young master went to a prestigious school with all the best scholars of his age. It isn't human-how smart those kids are.
We pulled up into the packed parking lot of the huge castle like, private school. I got out and walked around to open his door but he immediately hoped out heading towards the gates. "Master Cody! Don't you wish for me to escort you?" I called after him confused with his sudden change in routine.
"I'm fine, go home and take care of Lucas. I'll see you after school!" He waved and disappeared in to the mass mob of children.
"Right.. the feathered bat... joy." I grumbled getting back into the car and heading back to our estate.
Cody's perspective.
'Ahh! I'm going to be late!' I ran through the hall ways, fearing the 10 lashes on the hands. 'Room 143! There it is!'
I didn't think and ran straight into the room as the bell rang signaling class to start.
"Mister Anderson! You shouldn't be running in the halls and for being late, 15 lashes." I groaned. 'Physical punishment sucks.'
Slowly I took my seat, everyone was silent-muttering under their breath or giving me looks. 'Is there something on my face?' I thought, wiping my mouth.
"Cody, are the rumors really true? Did you buy an angel?" Daisy whispered.
She was my first and only friend. Spontaneous in nature and curious beyond belief. She was the absolute friend. She also had short brow red hair and hazel eyes.
"He's not an angel. He's a halfbreed." I corrected her. "Mister Anderson! Are you wanting detention as well?" The teacher shouted. "No sir." I groaned.
'I hope Deven is taking care of Lucas.'
Deven's perspective.'Just open the damn door! What are you afraid of?' I scolded myself. Making up my mind I grasped the handled and pulled the door open bracing for what was to come.
On Cody's bed laid a giant black lump. "Hey." I barked. Said lump moved and the black wings shifted to reveal the intimidating man whom they belonged to.
'Jesus he was injured and practically starved only a few days ago. Does he have some type of super healing ability?' "Who are you and what do you want?" His voice echoed through the room.
"C-Cody put me in charge of you, so I was just wanting to.. uh, you know check up on you." I stammered out unsure with how I should address him. 'Damn it..'
"Oh, you're that guy who helped me into the car when Cody rescued me." He breathed in realization. 'That guy?' I thought annoyed.
"By the way, were is he?" The halfbreed sat down on the bed, lowering his wings but his piercing blue eyes didn't leave mine. It sent shivers down my spine and caused me to shift my weight.
