AN: This is an important filler. Why did God abandon his angels? Muwahaha. Find out and btw. They both look like they're in their mid 20's early 30's.
I sat there on the large throne gazing into the water mirror. 'Hmph. You honestly think you can beat a God? .....I shall await for that day. Mortal.'
Humans come up with absurd ideas.
"My Lord, the Demon Lord has arrived and is on his way." A young angel bowed then disappeared behind a pillar.
I sighed and stood up, stretching my wings and joints. Then proceeded to walk down the hall and out into the Garden of Eden.
The garden was one of my first creations. The small stream, the trees, even the insects. A place were time is forbidden to touch. It is even more beautiful than a Goddess.
"Looking a little pale today, aren't we? My Lord." The Demon Commander snickered from underneath a veranda. He was tall and broad, like a warrior. Four giant black demon wings rested on the ground while his long deadly tail flicked with amusement. His eyes were deep dark red complimenting his long black hair. The giant ram horns sprouted from his head, adored in golden braces said only one thing.
"Great Demon Commander." I bowed extending my own four Angel wings. "What do I owe the pleasure of this... untimely visit."
"Jeez, I thought I told you to call me Danté." He smiled as I took my seat. "Or, you could call me big brother."
"I refuse!" He laughed at my outburst. "No need to be embarrassed. And I thought we were no longer enemy's?" I sighed at the demons ranting. Snapping my fingers, a chess board appeared with only six pawns, a knight, two kings a queen, a bishop and a rook.
"Aw, we just played like two days ago!" He growled and I sniffed a laugh. "In three billion years. The game hasn't ended. Maybe today's our lucky day." I said and we continued the long battle.
"So. Are you doing well?" I moved one of my pawns risking a chance to look up.
"To be honest. I'm growing weaker." I said and Danté's eyes grew wide before he sneered.
"Isn't there anything we can do?" He growled.
Both of us, God and Devil, are grounded from interfering with human life. We are not allowed to do, say or plan anything. It's only been about fifty years for humans and more like fifty seconds to us.
For me however, those fifty seconds are destroying me.
"It's not right that He should punish us for some human's ignorance!" I sighed, looking at the board.
Ever since the humans rebellion, the true God restricted our powers, saying that it was our fault Earth is spiraling into chaos. And since humans choose to no longer have faith, I am slowly dying. Vanishing.
"I do not wish to talk about this." I stated and watched as the demon's bishop avoided one of my pawns.
"Very well. Then how about that special case?" I crossed my legs and shifted my wings.
"Ah, the one who doesn't know his true name. He's doing well, however the plan is painfully slow." I moved another piece, on the attack.
"I still can't believe you had me do that. Creating a new breed of Divian. Even for you. That could be a sin." The Demon Lord teased.
I noted that the game isn't going to end anytime soon, so I decided to put it away.
"Do you know why sin is only frowned upon on humans?" The demon shook his head and I continued, "because without that, humans would try to be like us Gods." I stood up and walked to the apple tree. Danté followed with a confused look.
"We are perfect in the humans eyes but as you and I know, we both make mistakes." He smiled, "like when you flooded the Earth." He pointed out making me cringe. "You know as well as I do that it wasn't my fault!" I protested.
"Ah yes! We can't forget that little young God finally having his first drink and couldn't hold ... how do humans put it? Hold your liquor." I flushed bright red. "Whatever, you old fart."
"So basically, you set forth those rules to make is seem like humans are imperfect. When actually they can become part Gods." I nodded. "But in today's world, it is extremely rare." I thought back to the child and our pet. 'Most unsettling indeed.'
The demon commander came up to me, throwing an arm around my shoulder with a smile. "One more thing" I raised a brow.
"There's a rumor going around about our little toy. Evidently he's got a friend. A human who took a demon's wings and implanted them on his body. Then injected angelic blood within him."
"There's a third party?" I breathed in fear. 'Is he onto us? The true God?' I thought, heart rate increasing.
"Yeah but he's completely human. Rumor is, he killed our toy and is planning to do it again. Then come for our heads."
I sighed while Danté growled. "Isn't there some way we can bend the rules? God! I just want to kill something!" He roared.
Then it hit me. A large smile crept onto my lips making the Commander of the Underworld shiver. "There is something." I laughed madly and headed back to Heaven for preparations.
In the distance I could hear Danté yell, "you're God. Gotta' be pure remember! Not all evil and stuff cause that's my job!" I laughed. A Gods got to have his fun as well.
Demon Commander's perspective:
"Probation sucks ass." I growled and headed back to Hell. A giant wave of exhaustion washed over me.
"I guess I'll let him handle all the complicated crap and I'll handle all the fun stuff. But first, I'm taking a nap. Not like there's much to do-being grounded like children. Absurd."
