Chapter 23: A Turning Point in the War.

Cody's perspective.

'How long have I been here? Their deafening screams and howls of pain continue to ring in my head far after they long stopped.

The ground was cold and damp against my skin. I lost all feeling in my hands from them being tied behind my waist for so long.

When we arrived at the prison, Deven and I were separated. I remember kicking and screaming but I was knocked out before I could do any real damage. I remember the angels cries, the demons roars. It was like I could hear every cry for help. My body began to move against my will and I found myself standing at the iron bars. My mind was finally going blank. "The Divine Beings... I must... protect them."

Third perspective.

The Arc Angels and the Demon King descended from Heaven, making their way to where they could sense the boy. "He's activated his powers." Uriel spoke.

"Yes, the air is rich here." the Demon King muttered. "I am also feeling another presence. A demons of high ranking."

"Is it Nicholas?"

"No, it's my successor, Lucifer. We must hurry, I fear any longer and all Hell will break out."

Luficer roared in anger and pain when he was whipped by the military police. "Tell us demon. What happened to the half breed?" A officer ordered using the handle of the whip to lift the demons chin but stepped back in fear.

Those blood red eyes instilled fear into the cop. "Burn in Hell, you bastard." Lucifer hissed.

Suddenly the cop began to scream in agony, falling to the floor clawing at his chest. In seconds, fire began to flow out of his mouth, burning him from the inside out.

Lucifer broke the cuffs and bindings that held him. He walked to the door; stepping over the body of ashes in the process and walked out of the cell to where Cody was being held.

The hallways were dark and damp, and most of all, quiet. 'What is that. It's powerful and rich. Is this Cody's power?' Lucifer thought following after the presence. The one winged demon passed many cells that were empty, the only remainders of their prisoners were the feathers of the angels that were once there.

Lucifer stood with his eyes wide. "C-Cody?" they were in the middle of a dark arena and surprisingly the boy was all right. The demon felt relief flow through him but it was suddenly squashed when a sinister voice echoed off the walls. The demon quickly rushed to the boys side, grabbing him and shielding his frame with his one wing.

"Aw, now that your big brother's not here, you have a demon with one wing protecting you. How pitiful." Appearing out of the darkness was none other than the white demon Nicholas.

Lucifer growled when the man stepped into the dim light. "Now,now. Is that any way to say hello to your kin."

"I am nothing like you!" Lucifer roared.

Nicholas laughed at this before a sly smile slipped onto his cold lips. "Well. I'll tell you this. Every thing is coming to an end." He laughed.

"In the... Heavenly light... That the lords wings give off... In the wind.... from his voice...." Lucifer looked down when his new charge spoke of a Holy Scripture. "May His name only, banish all evil... and may his breath heal.. the fallen..." Nicholas groaned before clutching his heart. 'He's being inflicted. But why am I not?'

"God, hear my voice and defeat thous enemy!" Cody collapsed and that rich presence disappeared along with his voice. Lucifer caught him and jumped back just before Nicholas attacked. Bits of rock and dust covered the arena. 'If I was hit with that, I would've died.' Lucifer held onto Lucas's brother, protecting him with his life.

"Filthy traitor, both of you-"

The ceiling of the arenas' dome caved in as giant angels with golden armor swooped in wielding spears and swords. They instantly dived towards the white demon, attacking him with all their worth. Roars and magic filled the air as the angels used heavenly powers to mercilessly kill Nicholas.

I stood there, 'Not even I could escape with my life.' It felt like a nuclear bomb went off and it left Lucifer trembling at the sheer powers of the angels.

"Afraid?" Lucifer gazed to his right where a taller, broader demon stood. His long horns and giant wings gave it away as realization hit him.

"Your-your." Lucifer stopped as something swelled within him. Quickly he bowed, "My lord."

The demon king smiled, "It's wise to be afraid of them."

Lucifer straightened himself looking into the settling dust as the angels began to draw closer. This meant that Nicholas was dead.

"Demon King, where is the boy." Gabriel approached with a glare. Upon noticing Cody in Lucifer's arms, he reached out but the demon flinched away. "Give the boy to us. We must take him into custody."

"Like Hell you will." Lucifer growled stepping back in defense.

The angels suddenly turned when they felt a presence of dread. Turning to the sight of Nicholas's tattered body sent horror into everyone. The once human Nicholas was covered in blood and missing both his wings. "I will kill the boy for God! It is His will."

"No it isn't or else we wouldn't be here standing in your way." Uriel spoke as if it were the True God who was really speaking.

It all happened so fast that no one could've kept up; Nicholas disappeared. "Where'd he go?" every one said.

Lucifer swiftly turned when his wing begged him to run. "Behind you!"

"CODY"

In Heaven, Lucas's cell cracked to almost breaking point. When he though all was lost for his brother, a bright light touched his cell and suddenly, a bit of his power leaked out.

Julie walked through the halls of the presidents house. She was determined to get to the bottom of this. Nicholas has ignored the laws for long enough. 'As a head judge in Japan, I will see that he is to be brought to justice.' She thought pushing the doors wide open ignoring the protest of the presidents guards.

"Who the hell are you?!"

"President Yatamoto, my name is Julie, and I would like to inform you what your country is doing behind your back." She yelled pulling away from the guards and taking a seat in front of Yamato's desk.

"I know whats happening, that Cody Anderson is keeping all those divine beings from me and this country. He was going to use them-"

"Shut up!" Julie yelled glaring at the elder man. "Maybe if you were as smart as he is then you would be able to see the war that is being waged while you sit here and hide behind what you call a country. Maybe if you were smart enough, you would see that Nicholas is really the one who is doing your job because your'e such a fucking coward!" She panted.

Yamaoto looked at the young woman judge with bewilderment. "What do you mean by that?"

Julie breathed, explaining all the illegal work that Nicholas has been doing and that he plans to start a war and help rule over the world.

Not far off, bright blue lightning struck an arena.
