The days seemed to blur together and I tried to stay as close to Cody as I was able to without looking suspicious. Two days has passed and gradually people left the estate to go into shelters.

In that time, Cody hung out with Blaz and the team. He constantly asked questions and always fed them. Whatever they wanted, they were given.

'Only three more days...' I hung my head down bringing my right leg up and resting the side of my face on it.

My hand unconsciously grabbed at my necklace. The one that was given to me from Deven. My fingers grazed the lettering, a smile forming on my lips.

I looked over to the sleeping child beneath my wing. He seemed so peaceful, as if he's in his own little world.

I looked over at the clock, it said 9:30, and I sighed. Begrudgingly I lifted my wing, chuckling as he shivered from the lack of warmth.

"Cody...It's time to wake up." I gently shook him. He whined and tried to snuggle deeper within the blankets.

I laughed and decided to pick him up, a squeal escaping his lips, "Lucas! It's too early."

I brought him close to me, letting my feathers consume his body. "Today is your speech, or have you forgotten?" I asked. Cody looked downwards and pulled my wing closer to him then bringing my tail up to his lap.

"I'm worried... I mean, in front of so many people... there, watching me." He whispered into my side. I sighed knowing his fear of standing in front of so many people.

The door bell rang throughout the house. Currently I was in the kitchen while Deven and Cody was in the training room helping Lucifer with rehab for his wing.

I went to open the door and was assaulted by questions. "Is Cody Anderson here!?" I took a step back by the sheer intensity of the womans' question. It was a reporter and another man holding the camera.

"And what is it that you want of him?" I raised a brow, lifting my wings up taller and spreading them in a threatening manner.

"13 hours ago, upon Cody Anderson's orders, the TAI team was sent to rescue survivors of the storm and house them here at his estate. We would like him to come and speak in front of the Nation about what made him do this." my eyes widened.

"You are the forward of TAI, the first the he bought, can you tell me what are your thoughts of being owned by a child?" she asked shoving a microphone in my face.

A low growl formed in my throat. "First, I wasn't bought, he rescued me- and secondly, no one at this estate is a fucking slave. We are not held captive nor are we forced to be bent by anyone's will!" I yelled stepping forwards outside making them cower away. "So get your facts right before you go asking questions to things that your mind fully doesn't comprehend." I sheathed.

"May I help you?" I turned to see Deven at the doorway looking very concerned. Suddenly, his eyes locked with mine. I felt fear drain off him, heightening my sense.

"You talk to the nosy reporters." I whispered, walking past him, 'I need to find Cody before I loose myself to my demon blood.' I thought disappearing into the house.

I've came to the conclusion that whenever I'm with him, the inner monster within me is tamed.

Deven's perspective:

Today was the day that the young master was to give his speech. I worry that something will go wrong or that he is going to be injured in the process. But then again, Lucas and the whole TAI team will be there. I myself will be standing right beside him.
