"Man, what kind of snob owns this place?" Lucifer laugh. Anger flared within me. "Shut your damn mouth!" I roared at the demon, shoving him.
Lucifer glared at me, "oh-ho. Showing some of your true colors now. You must lick your masters shoes like an obedient little dog." He spat.
"Lucifer, you will act accordingly no matter where we go. It is not our place to speak." Isralfel spoke. Even with her collar, her words still meant something, the words of God.
Licifer grunted in surrender and I continued to give the tour of the manor. Deven looked a little nervous about this whole situation and I didn't blame him.
"Hael, Isralfel. This is were you will be sleeping." I pointed to the very large and spacious room. The two angels hesitantly stepped into the room with wide eyes. "You mean that, all this." Hael gestured. "Is ours?"
I nodded and a smile crossed his face. The male angel ran off to explore leaving the remaining one standing, giving me a questioning look.
"What?" I sighed. She ruffled her wings defensively, a frown forming her full lips. "there's catch. Isn't there?" I opened my mouth, getting ready to speak but Deven beat me.
"Grow stronger, healthier and continue to fight. Then just maybe we can help you earn your freedom back." He stated with power. Isralfel let out a small laugh with a fake smile, "what? Your going to start a protest to release all divine beings?" Deven shook his head. "No, your new caretaker or shall I say Lucas's master, is going to start a revolution."
Codys perspective.
It's hot. My body, it feels as though it's on fire. But at the same time it's like I'm drowning, hard to breathe.
'Lucas.'
I stood in the middle of an open darkness. "Where, where am I?" My voice echoed within the vast void.
A loud groan caught my attention.slowly I turned, "L-lucas?" My throat tightened and my eyes started to burn.
"Cody." The half-breed looked up at me with a strained face. Blood coming out of the corners of his mouth. Further down his body, the black wings looked broken and shredded.
"Lucas!" I rushed next to him, his cobalt eyes were glossy. "C-Cody, you have.....to.... run." He took his large hand and placed it on the side of my face. Hot tears started to cascade down but it felt like I was being torn apart when pieces of Lucas's body started to disappear.
"Wait!" A forced began to separate us, "beware... the white demon..." he called until darkness consumed me and his body decenergrated before my eyes.
I jolted awake, flinging the sheets off my bed. I looked over at the empty spot where Lucas usually slept. It was empty.
My heart throbbed. 'Did he really disappear?' I breathed in, getting ready to scream his name in fear but an unfamiliar voice stopped me.
"Jin. This must be the half-breeds master." Said a demon standing at the foot of my bed.
"Who are you?" I scurried back to the head board.
The smallest demon smiled wickedly while the taller one just looked at me with a emotionless face.
Lucas perspective
"What the hell do you mean a revolution?" I shouted. Deven looked annoyed while Isralfel shifted her wings.
He sighed and glared at me making me gulp, "you have no idea how much that boy wants to change the world for the better. He's smarter than you think and he plans everything out. He can practically do anything because he's got his mother's money. He is the game keeper and right now, we're his pawns."
I couldn't believe what he was saying. The child who was clinging to me only a week ago-Deven makes him sound like a villain.
A fire a lit within me, "what are you saying?" I growled flexing my wings in anger.
"Master Cody wishes to send the angels and demons back to their respectable places."
Everything was silent. I never would've thought that someone so young, would wish for something so big as this. I lowered my wings ashamed that I was about to attack one of my friends. 'Damn my demon blood!' I sneered to myself.
"Um, I don't mean to interrupt you guys but, were are Lucifer and Jin?"
Both Deven and I looked at each other before we broke into a full run down the hall and to the open lobby. "Lucas fly!" He didn't need to tell me twice. I spread my wings and lifted myself to the third floor where Cody's room was.
'Damn it! I'm so stupid!" I landed with a loud thud-my wings smacked the guard rail but I didn't care. I was more concerned with the yells being emitted from Cody's room.
"Imma kill ya now ya scrawny no good runt!" I heard Lucifer yell. "No! Please I'm sorry." Cody's cry propelled me forward.
I dashed into the room, no sings of him on the bed. 'Cody, please be alive.' Adrenaline took hold of my body-my blood boiled and my heart pumped hard in my chest. Even my wings flapped wildly trying to gain more speed.
I darted into the bedroom's living room and jumped over the couch were the two demons were next to Cody's small form.
"Cody!" I yelled with open arms an spread wings. The child turned with wide eyes and screamed in surprise.
I caught him and rolled, tucking his small form with in my wings.
I just laid there and held him protectively within my hold. "Are you alright?" I lifted my wings making a small opening where some light was able to seep through my feathers.
"Lucas!" The child gasped and wiggled upright out of my hold. I moved my wings to were I could see him more clearly. "Did they hurt you? Are you alright, oh God I'm so sorry. I should've kept a better eye on them." I rambled at the dazed child.
Small hands grabbed my face firmly making me stare into his carmel irises. "Lucas, breath."And I did. We stayed like that, our breathing becoming synchronized and a wave of calmness washed over me.
"Lucas, we were only playing a video game. They didn't hurt me." He stated with a small smile. Cody withdrew his hands and stood up, looking over at the two demons.
I turned and shot a glare making said people flinch. "Look Jin, mommas mad." I growled but Cody smacked me gently on the head.
"L-Lucas. I thought that this kid was a total snob but he's so cool. He's got cool games and good food. The runts weak but yeah, not ah snob." Leave it to Lucifer to be a suck up. I looked at Jin noting that he watched the boy with a fondness.
'Hm. I guess they aren't a threat to his well being.' I thought. Cody started to go into a coughing fit making me panic. "Young master! You should still be in bed." Deven finally entered the room, rushing to Cody's side, completely out of breath. "Sorry, I wanted to play with Jin and Lucifer." He croaked weakly. "Lucas, why don't you put him to bed while I take them to their rooms?" I nodded and watched as they left.
Jin stayed back and kneeled before the child. "Get well. Then we can play for more." He said and ruffled his hair.
After he left I looked at Cody. He was still a little red but at least he didn't have a fever anymore. "Come on squirt. Let's get you back into bed." I bent down and placed him on my hip-walking to the bed. "Lucas. You're like a daddy... or a brother." He slurred out. I smiled as his head rested on my shoulder, eyes closed and a soft snore escaping his small lips.
I tucked Cody in bed and crawled next to him, using my right wing as a blanket. "Rest well. Tomorrow will be a long an hectic day." I said to his sleeping form. Unconsciously he snuggled closer to my feathers.
"If your really the master mind like Deven says how are. Then maybe you can even out smart God himself."
I whispered and soon fell asleep as well.AN: ok now we're really getting into the story. If you have any questions or ideas PLEASE comment :) a writer is nothing without their readers.
