Lucas's Perspective -The Day After Court
I feel so helpless, unable to help my charge infront of me. He was hot and sweaty, coughing and couldn't go to sleep. When ever he breathed you could hear a small wheeze.
I balled my hands in frustration. "Hey, the young master has a weak immune system. So don't blame yourself." Deven looked fine on the outside but on the inside, I could tell he was concerned, even more than I.
"Lucas, go ahead and help bring all the TAI members here." Cody whispered. I didn't want to leave him, but I'll do whatever he ask of me. "Lets go." I growled for Deven to follow.
I took long strides down the hallway annoyed. Cody didn't touch anyone at court so how'd he get sick? Was it from me? Did I do it?
Not only that but grease head also has me annoyed. How is that woman connected to him really? And why does it seem as though she knows who I am?
Deven finally joined my side, "hey whats got your tail in a knot?" I rolled my eyes and jumped over the guard rail of the stairs, using my wings to glide to the door. I don't feel like putting up with his, it's ok talks or his snickering.
"That just isn't fair."I heard him shout from the third floor. I couldn't help but smirk. 'Maybe today won't be a total waste.'
At TAI Stadium
"Lucas, I want you to stay by my side. God knows what'll happen to you here if you're not next to a human." Deven said, glancing up to me. My eye twitched, "I am no longer weak and insufficient. I can take care of myself." I huffed. The smaller man smiled, "now you sound like the young master."
We both continued to the entrance and through the maze of hallways earnings glares as we passed by. In the past five days I've earned nothing but those notorious looks. I growled.
"Whatever you do, don't say a word." I rolled my eyes as we entered an office. On the front of the door it said, Mr. Holland.
Upon entering I had to resist coughing. You could practically see all the smoke in the room. "Why ain't that thing on 'ah leash?" I growled but received a whack from Deven.
"My apologies but he is usually very well trained." Holland raised an eyebrow then took a drag on his cigar. "If he's so trained like you say he is, then why did he lose that last match?"
I stepped forwards, "then why don't you go out there and do it yourself!" I burst out.
Deven pinched the bridge of his nose, groaning in annoyance while Holland looked more than irritated. Just as he was going to say something, another person came in. "Thats because his fat ass won't get off the ground."
I turned to see the snearing face of Lucifer. He was a little shorter than me but he had light gray brown hair that came down to his eye brows. He also had dark gray demon wings with a long tail tipped like a spear on the end. My only concern was how thin he was. His skin was bruised and cut while his body seemed sluggish, but that didn't stop him from running his mouth.
"Well isn't the half-breed looking pompous today." Instead of getting annoyed I merely shot him a retort. "And isn't the defected demon looking a little angelic as well?"
"That'll be enough you two. I want every divine being out of here that has a signature from their owners, giving them permission to leave by this afternoon." The owner of TAI ordered, signaling our dismissal by a wave of his hand.
Quickly I grabbed Lucifer by the arm and dragged him out to the hallway. "You better let go of my arm before I break your hand." He threatened me. "Whats the matter with you! Do you want to get punished?" I hissed, pushing him up against the wall.
