I gripped him tightly, knowing that if I were to drop him, Lucas would have my ass.
"Please." He cried out and I snapped, annoyed by all his bawling.
"Shut up you spoiled little brat!" And we were plagued with silence.
It was annoying how much he obeyed someone and I didn't like it. It made my insides burn.
"Lucifer!" the boy shouted but it was too late. A heavy mass collided into my back, between my wings with a sickening crunch. "Ngh!" I wheezed as my whole body went limp and suddenly both the boy and I were plummeting towards the crashing waves.
"GRAB HIM!"
I no longer could possess my body as I found myself diving towards the child, grabbing him and gliding to the top of a building.
My wings tingled. "My, my. What do we have here?" I turned to see a white demon. "It seems like you bought me another one of your play things.. Cody."
Something deep within me was telling me that this was no ordinary demon. He was of higher status and could probably defeat me if he wanted.
"How do you know my name!" Cody called out while inching closer to me gripping my tail. He was scared, but why of this demon?
"You wound me child, but I guess it can't be helped, not right now anyways." He then looked at me. 'He has blue eyes. Interesting.'
"What do ya want?" I asked earing a laugh from him, which pissed me off. "What I want? Well, there's many things I want but if you don't mind. I'd love to take that child from you. It seems that I am a bad baby sitter." He took another step towards us.
"Just who are you?"
"My name is Nicholas." He said suddenly appearing right in front of me with a grin. "And you will die. Traitor." My eyes widened as I took a blow to the face.
Cody whimpered from underneath me since both of us were sent backwards. He stood up and grabbed my hand, trying to pull me along towards the edge the building. "Lucifer, come on. Let's get out of here." I couldn't help but laugh. A mere human child thinks that he can save me from a demon.... "Do not pity me child." I growled, pulling my hand back.
I stood and faced Nicholas, "listen here you no good piece of crap knock off version for a demon!" my smack talk seemed to get his attention. "For starters don't you ever fucking punch me again and second, I can't hand over the child."
"And why is that?" he breathed out annoyed.
"Because I'm going to learn how to play a call of duty tomorrow and I'm not letting you fucking get in my way." It wasn't exactly my greatest of lies but it would have to do.
"LUCIFER.... GET HIM TO LUCAS. PROTECT HIM, FOR HE IS THE FUTURE GOD."
My eyes widened. 'Who was that?' I growled watching Nicholas burst into a fit of laughter. 'He's really pissing me off.'
"A low life demon is challenging me?! So be it." I prepared myself for what's coming.
Lucas perspective
'I don't know how much longer I can keep us above water.' I clutched the girl tightly making sure her face was out of the water.
A ledge appeared to my right leading into a building. Using my wing's claw, I painfully reached for it.
With a lot of effort, I was able to haul us up and over the ledge. All my energy was drained and I collapsed onto the ground next to the girl. 'What was her name again?' I watched as her chest rose and fell signaling that she was still alive.
