CHAPTER 79

NANDINI'S POV

Navya and I brought Mukti to the mandap.I could say that I've never witnessed such grand decorations in my whole life.Everything looked splendid.The decoration.The groom.The bride.The bride's brother.Oh well!Ahem.

So yeah.

Mukti's dress.

I didn't saw kabir though.He must be around somewhere.But did saw someone whom I almost forgot and felt guilty for that.I quickly went and hugged Chachu.

"Oh do you even remember me now?"he asked.I knew he was just teasing me but I still felt guilty because I actually did forget him for sometime.

"I was just teasing"Chachu said when I didn't reply him.

"No!I should've called you more often."I said feeling guilty.He said patted my head and said it was ok as long as I was happy.He also teased me saying he was glad that I was no longer clinged to him.I just punched him playfully.

To say the night was perfect would be an understatement of the century.Everything was perfect just like planned.Manik was fine.He didn't shoot his vlog saying he hired a professional for that.

Chachu met other professors from college and he was with them.I told him I will be with my friends and he was fine with it.

All the thoughts of being careful around Chachu and staying away from Manik flew out of my mind.We were together the whole time. At the time of pheras Manik stood behind me while throwing flower petals.I glared at him when someone pointed out that I had flower petal crown on my head by now.

"Oh I was throwing them down.But since you are..you know.."he said pointing out our height difference with his hand.
"Down..It must have fell on you."Although I would've been offended if it was someone else making fun of my height..I didn't mind it one bit when Manik said that.I glared at him even when I wasn't even mad at him at first place then hit him on his arm.

After the pheras where done..Mukti being Mukti grabbed Abhimanyu by collar and kissed him right on lips infront of everyone.Everyone cheered for the newly married couple except Manik.He was ready to lounge at Abhimanyu even though it was his sister who kissed him.Kabir came between and stopped Manik from going forward.His grip loosening on Manik at how hard he was laughing along with us.

Manik and kabir then did a dance performance right after Navya,me and other Mukti's friends did the girls dance.

It was like we were drunk.Everything felt so unreal.
Kabir,Navya,Manik and I were together the whole time.We ate together.Laughing all the time at anything and nothing as if we were drunk.Whenever kabir made a joke Navya would try not to laugh but would turn her head the other side and involuntarily laughed.After half a day she even stopped hiding and was laughing with us.

We took alot of pictures together and also some with Mukti.It was the only few minutes that we got Mukti for ourselves.As she was surrounded by guests for whole day.I first took pictures with Chachu then with Manik and all.Manik and I stood beside Mukti while Navya stood beside Abhimanyu,kabir stealthily following behind her and just as the photographer was about to click the picture,kabir laced his hand with Navya.Although Navya quickly detached herself from him,it was still captured on camera.We laughed at their antics.

And to end the day on a memorable note we reminded the boys of the offer to which they agreed previously.The moment for which Navya and I were waiting to arrive.It was finally here.

Manik and Kabir threw a tantrum when we first asked them for it but as soon as Navya said ok and calmly turned around giving kabir the disappointed look he was agreed to it in seconds.I was about to try the same on Manik when he already raised his hand and said it's ok you don't have to be that dramatic and agreed to it.

Then came the highlight of the day.

Kabir and Manik danced to London thumakda in lehengas.

Previously when they danced in lehenga at my home to cheer me up, I had offered them to dance on Mukti's wedding to which they agreed while laughing.Although I said I was serious about it they didn't took me seriously now this is what happens when you don't take Nandini Murthy seriously.Navya,Mukti and I and almost everyone laughed their lungs out at their performance.Specially at one step where Manik and Kabir wantedly jut out and rolled his hip to the beat.Everyone lost it at that.

I better be good at it while I am at it.. that's what I thought said Manik to me when I asked him later about it.

Then came the time for vidaayi.Nyonika,Manik and Mr.Malhotra hugged her and all cried.Although Manik didn't cry infront of Mukti and joked saying a burden was lifted,his red eyes said another story.I saw him going complete back of the crowd and wiping his tear,coming back to the crowd like nothing happened.

As much as it pained me to see him like that,I couldn't comfort him.I mean is there anything you could say to comfort at such moment?Apart from that I too was on brink of crying and totally lost it when Mukti hugged me.

This was not in the plan.We thought anyone of us won't cry since Mukti is marrying the love of her life and she is going to be to happy but here we were standing near gate crying together as her car goes out.I unknowingly hold on Chachu's arm tightened.

Once the car disappeared from sight we all started going back in.What I didn't noticed was Chachu was awfully silent.

After dinner I found Chachu standing alone near swimming pool so I quitely went and sat beside him.We sat there in silence and what he asked me next should've been expected but it wasn't.

"So Manik was your date that day huh?"
