Chapter 35

NANDINI'S POV

Time up!He didn't removed his hand!Too late! I'm used to it!I intertwined my fingers with his and started walking towards the car which was standing few feets away from us.Will I be wrong if I say this my best day ever?I guess not.

             Manik held the door open for me but I was feeling I was missing something.My both hands were empty then it clicked me,I don't have my phone.I must have dropped it while trying to get hold of the tree.I tell Manik I'll be back and run to get my phone.He tried to stop me telling my sandles were broken so I kept my sandles in car and ran for my phone.After I found my phone under the exact same tree I was panting because of the running so I bent and little to catch my breath.Then again I ran back towards the car.When I was near the car I noticed Manik was nowhere to be seen.For some reason I was not feeling good.I slowed down my steps and looked around and there he was.

Wait!What is he doing?Who's the other man?Many negative thoughts came to my mind as I saw Manik standing there with his hands up in a surrender position.I tiptoed quietly and since I wasn't wearing sandles it was easy for me to not make a noise.I peeked from behind the tree and it was exactly what I was thinking.A man was holding a gun towards Manik and seeing that made my blood boil with anger.I don't care whoever he is.How dare he think of hurting Manik?No one can hurt my Manik.I looked around for something and then I saw Manik staring at me.He quietly gestured me to hide so that the man couldn't see me.But I'm not the one to leave him in danger just like that.I ignored him and saw a tree branch.If I would have looked at it before I wouldn't think of lifting it but I was so angry that my mind stopped working.All I knew in that moment was this man infront of Manik deserves to be hurt as he was thinking to hurt Manik.Before I could think what I was doing I dragged the branch from there and because of the noise it made the man turned slightly towards me but before he could point his gun towards me I lifted the branch and I hit him with it right below his knees.I feel on the floor and taking the opportunity Manik took the gun from him and threw it far away.He sat on him started beating him I tried to stop Manik and when he looked at me the man pushed Manik to the ground and ran on his bike.

I stared at the man till he was out of sight and that's when I felt Manik staring at me.

"Wow!that was stupid and brave!"he said looking at me in admiration making me blush but I controlled not to.

"That wasn't stupid!"I protested when my mind finally registered his words.

"Oh that was.What if he would have shot when you hit him?"

"That's the reason I hit him on leg so that he would fall and miss the shot."

"Makes sense."he said and I didn't knew if he was serious or being sarcastic.

"Huh!I wasn't kidding when I told you I was dangerous. "I said brushing my hairs off my shoulder making him show that perfect teeth and smile of his.I offered him my hand to get and he pulled my towards him.I landed beside and him and we both laughed.

Manik told me how that man came out of nowhere and wanted Manik to hand him the car keys.We sat there for awhile.I don't know why whenever we are together we forget we have other things to do.We have other people in our lives too.I finally told Manik we'll be late if we don't get going now.So he got up and opened the door for passenger seat and when I was about to sit he went in and sat.I looked at him confused.

"Since you proved that you ARE indeed 'dangerous'.I believe then your statement on knowing how to drive is true."he said smiling at me and tossed the car keys towards me which I caught in time.I squealed and happiness and also I was a little nervous.I learned driving long back and now if I tell him he won't let me drive so I decide to be quite.

I jumped in the driver's seat and started the car.The car jerked forward and stopped.I looked at Manik sheepishly but he was calm which boosted my confidence.I started driving and it was nice but I wasn't enjoying it.Manik was so at peace.I didn't like that.So an evil idea came to my mind and I smirked internally as I saw a truck approaching from opposite direction.I pretended as if I didn't saw the truck and was driving oblivios when Manik suddenly turned the steering.He looked at me in horror and I gave him my best innocent look.

"Sorry Manik I didn't saw that truck coming."I told him and he just nodded horrified. Now this is better.Whenever a vehicle would pass us Manik would clutch the seat tightly making me enjoy every minute of it.Once the road was deserted I started driving car in zig zag manner.

"Manik I think I can't control the car.I think the breaks failed."I semi shouted and tried to hold back my laughter.While Manik pressed himself into the seat further and holded the desk in front of him.

"Nandini I know you can drive properly please stop doing this.This is dangerous."he said and the look  of horror on his face made me laugh badly.

"Okay I will drive properly but first repeat after me that girls are the best and indeed they can do everything,be it driving,swimming or flying a plane."I said and I wonder of he even registered my words as he repeated what I said instantly and in same tone as mine.The rest of the journey went with me teasing Manik and him probably planning to kill me once the car stops.

When we reached the farmhouse I saw the time it was 2:45 which meant Manik still had 1 hour and 15 minutes to plan the surprise party he had decided.I was so proud of myself for driving like a maniac.I turned off the car and quickly ran inside without waiting for Manik as I knew what he will do to me.I entered and stopped dead in my track as I saw Abhimanyu on his knees infront of Mukti and Mukti looking at him with so much love and tears in her eyes.If it would have been any other situation I would have been so happy but I was aware that I was't alone.I turned around to look at Manik who entered smiling and running after me but when he saw behind me his smile went away.His smile turned into anger and some emotion I couldn't read.And still he looked handsome with his jaw clenched and hands fisted.Shut up Nandini get control of yourselves.I came infront of him to block his view but who was I kidding?He's probably twice height as of mine.So I stood there watching rushing towards the stairs ignoring me like I wasn't standing in his way followed by kabir and Abhimanyu calling after him.

Back.Thank you guys for the patience and now I'm fine(mostly).The first thing I thought of doing is write a chapter for you lovely people.Today is my last appointment with doctor so I guess I'll be fine now and I'm planning to give you guys as much chapters as possible.How you enjoy.😍😘
