I feel Jennie's eyes on me as I stare out of the car window, but I don't bother look over.
It annoys me how someone who has put Jennie through so much shit, knows practically everything about her, but I just wanna spend my life with her, and know the bare minimum.
I just want to be able to help her, but I don't feel like I even know her.
I look over at her, knowing that if I don't try to start a conversation, it'll never happen. But as soon as I go to look at her she turns to the back.
She asks if they all have their belts on, and when they all say yes, she turns her head back to the front, not meeting my eye once as she puts her foot on the gas
I sigh slightly and rest my chin on my hand as I look out the window
This is gonna be a long long trip

"I'm hungry" Jisoo yells from the middle seat, like we haven't heard her for the thousandth time
We only just got onto the highway, and Jennie looks ready to drive the off the side
I watch as Jennie's hand tightens on the wheel, and her jaw clenches
"Same!" Kevin shouts from the back, Bambam making some sort of yell in agreement
"Oh for fucks sake!" Jennie shouts, indicating left as she pulls over to the side. She turns around with a dark glare and moves her hands in a swift movement
"Now listen. I hear anyone say their hungry once fucking more. I'm gonna take us all out, then no one has to worry about Adelpha killing us, because we'll be at the bottom of a fucking river" she threatens
Jisoo pouts slightly as she leans back
"But we haven't eaten?"
"It's been 20 minutes Jisoo. And you ate the majority of the snacks, so don't give me that bullshit"
My stomach growls lightly while the two are arguing, but luckily no one hears it
Jennie slumps back into her seat with a huff. I tap her arm rest slightly with a small smile, genuinely afraid she'll run us off the side
"Yes?" She asks, sounding tired already
Maybe I shouldn't ask
"I-I'm kinda hungry"
The whole car goes silent as Jennie just turns her head back to the front, starting the car and pulling back onto the highway
She doesn't speak at all for the next 30 minutes. But instead makes a small detour. I read the sign as we pass by and almost burst into tears of joy
A service station
She parks the car near the front and gets out of the car, taking the keys with her. We all quickly follow behind, only to get in and see she's in the convenience store
"We'll get you some food Lis, just check on her alright?" Jisoo says as Kevin, Bambam and Chaeyoung read the map to find a food court.
I nod my head and walk into the store. Jennie walks around, grabbing a few bags of chips and some candy alongside a red bull
I catch up behind her and start walking with her
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a burden" I say, feeling slightly bad
"It doesn't matter. Your not a burden." She says, voice stoic and slightly cold. I fiddle with my sleeve slightly while we walk around some more
"Did you want anything? " She asks, not looking at me
I look around, grabbing a pack of skittles and holding it
"Pass them then. How am I supposed to pay if your holding them" She says, not snark in her voice, but her consistent cold tone makes it sound snarky
"It's fine I can-"
Jennie turns around and takes the bag from my hand and puts it on top of the rest her stuff. I smile slightly and shake my head as she heads to the till
The cashier smiles brightly at her, starting to scan her stuff.
"Sorry, can I get a pack of Nat Sherman Black and Gold please?"
The guys turns around and grabs a black box of cigarettes and puts it in the bag, putting the price into the till
" That will be $48.67"
My eyes widen at the price, but Jennie just seems to shrug it off as she reaches into her pocket for her money or card
I catch the cashiers eyes travel up and down Jennie, as his bright friendly smile turns into a slightly seductive smile as Jen takes out her card
I wrap a hand around her waist, and kiss her cheek
"Thanks for the stuff babe" I say loud enough for the guy to hear me
Jennie looks down at me, confused as she swipes her card through the machine
"Thank you for your purchase, please enjoy the rest of your trip" The cashier says
Jennie bows quickly as she grabs the bag and my hand in the other, walking out of the shop.

We get back to the car and Jennie puts the bag in the space near my feet, grabbing the pack of cigarettes outs and leaning on the side of the car, pulling an engraved lighter out of the car door.
I watch as she pulls out a black and gold cigarette out of the box, shoving the box into her pocket as she lifts the flame to the stick and lighting it.
The end turns a bright red as smoke fills the air around her. She pulls the end out of her mouth, puffing smoke rings into the air as she looks up
"I didn't know you smoked" I say, disappointed
She nods her head and closes her eyes as she rests on the outside of the car, flicking the ash from the cancer stick onto the ground
"But then again I don't know much about you" I quip
Jennie sighs loudly and pulls the cigarette from her lips as she turns to look at me
"Look. I'm not an open person, I don't like sharing information with people about me. So yes Lisa if you want to know more about me your gonna have to fucking torture it out of me or rip the memories from my head! Considering you like bringing up Adelpha that fucking much" She almost shouts, breaking off the end of the cigarette and throwing it onto the ground.
It smokes up before she stomps out the flame and gets into the car, slamming the door as she faces forward, not looking at me
The rest of them decide to come back, in that minute, holding a few bags of subway and some pot ramens
They look between us before smiling unsure-ly
"We brought food"
Jennie turns the engine on in one movement, opening her window all the way as she puts on some shades
"Good, now get in" She says, voice angry and slightly harsh
They all nod and quickly get into the car, buckling up quickly as Jennie drives off.
I sigh once more and look out of the window, watching the cars go pass silently
Jisoo nudges me and hands me a subway sandwich and a drink.
"Thanks" I say quietly, putting the food in my lap, not actually eating it
I lost my appetite a while ago
