River’s eyes peeled open, and it felt like she was in a room full of reflectors. The curtains must have been opened, because her eyes were burning like hell, and she couldn’t keep them open. God, she’d gotten so wasted, and she knew she was going to regret it. She groaned, and started to lift her torso off the bed,

When something moved beneath her.

She stopped moving, and her eyes shot open. She looked down to find a sleeping boy. He was shirtless, and she figured he was nude beneath the blankets as well, and she immediately regretted the night before. He moved slightly, lifting his back from the bed and turning a little, so his head moved to the other side, and his arms, which apparently were around River’s waist, tightened for a moment. His brown eyes fluttered open for an instant, and immediately closed as he sighed and wiggled his nose a bit, as if he were on the verge of sneezing.

When his eyes opened, River knew exactly who he was. He was the gypsy-eyed boy from the club the night before! Oh god, she’d slept with him. What the hell was she thinking? A heat immediately fell on her stomach as regret and a slight hatred flowed through her. She’d been saving herself, dammit! Even drunk, she never slept around with anyone! He must have been a real sweet talker.

She wasn’t going to be able to calm down, and she knew it. At the very least, she was happy he was attractive, even after her drunken haze. Slowly, she sat up, straddling him for a moment as she took in her surroundings. They were in her house. How the hell was she supposed to get rid of him? Annoyed, she slowly started to climb off of him when his hands found her waist and he rolled, bringing her with him.

He lay on top of her, entirely flat, with his arms wound around her, and even though he was a great pretender, she knew he wasn’t asleep. She slowly tugged herself out from underneath him and slid onto the floor beside the mattress.

Her clothes were scattered everywhere, and she only half mindedly began to sort through them before remembering that they were in her house. She didn’t realize this before she found her leather corset, which was entirely torn to bits. All the ribbon used to tie it shut in the back were ripped off, and some of the leather was torn. They’d had a hell of a time undressing, clearly.

She slipped towards her dresser and grabbed a pair of pajama pants and a tee, which she threw on before opening the door to her room and silently slipping out into the living room, clicking the door shut behind her.

Clearly Kyu Ree had only just gotten home. She had changed from the clothes she’d worn to work into a pair of jeans and a crop top. The amount of fruit on the counter showed that she’d run to the grocery store that morning. River bet her life on the fact that Kyu Ree had run out of her most valuable possession, banana milk. It would be the only reason she left the house.

Kyu Ree was standing beside the counter, and she turned to look at River. “What time did you get in this morning?”

River blinked a few times, hoping her eyes would adjust to the light. “Try last night.”

At this, Kyu Ree looked up, shocked. “What?” River nodded, and she could feel tears beginning to form in her eyes, even though she was trying to hold them back. “Is there someone in your room?” River nodded again, and Kyu Ree’s back straightened. “Well, what now?”
