Taeil stared at Kyu Ree's bedroom door. He didn't know what he said or did wrong, but clearly it was something. Kyu Ree never acted like that, and it made him nervous. Did he really piss her off that much?
The front door opened and Taeil turned to see River moving into the apartment. She offered a smile and Taeil waved slightly. "Where's Starr?" She asked, moving towards the living room and dropping down on the couch.
Taeil pointed to the closed door that led to Kyu Ree's room. "She's in her room," He sighed, moving towards River and sitting across from her. "So what happened last night?"
River frowned, crossing one leg over the other. "Well, things got weird at Akito's, so I ended up leaving. Then Zico found me, and I went back to the dorm to hang out with the guys. I killed it at poker," She laughed at this. "But that was about it. What happened here? Why is she in her room?"
Taeil turned to look at the closed door. Music was spilling through, barely audible lyrics could be heard, and Taeil knew that Kyu Ree couldn't hear them. "I asked what she wanted to do for her birthday."
"Yeah, Hee-Bong said she was a little touchy about her birthday. Something about unwanted attention and celebration. I figured I would take her out for a small dinner or something," She leaned forward. "But Akito's birthday is tomorrow, which means his brother's birthday is tomorrow. I was thinking about it on the way home, and I'd like to throw him a party."
Taeil nodded. "Okay. Where are you going with this?"
"Well, Loki and James clearly know Akito's brother from somewhere else, maybe past jobs or something. I was going to ask them to get a hold of him and get him here. If we have a party, we can have it as a joint sort of thing for Akito and Kyu Ree. This way she isn't angry that we threw her a party because technically, we didn't."
Taeil winced. "I don't know if that's a good idea." He said lightly.
River laughed. "I know that it's not." She said. She stood up and stretched her arms over her head. "I am going to take a shower right now, go work out, and then shower again."
Taeil watched as she stood and laughed. "You're going to shower and then reshower."
River nodded. "I plan on it."
Taeil stood as well. "I'm going to try and talk to her so, I guess I'll see you after your workout?" River nodded and turned towards her room, so Taeil turned towards Kyu Ree's room. He was slow to walking towards it, unsure if it was a smart move to go into her room, to try and talk things out with her. Clearly he hadn't pissed her off, and it wasn't really him at all, she was just uncomfortable.
He didn't bother knocking, he just pushed the door open and moved into the room.
Kyu Ree lay on her bed, her back on the mattress and her stomach towards the ceiling. She had her arms spread on either side of her, and one leg bent at the knee so her foot could rest on the edge of the bed, while the other lay flat. She turned her head to look at him, and he started towards her.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, noting that she'd changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top.
Kyu Ree shrugged. "Fine I guess." She said, biting her lip. "Could we not celebrate-"
"Whatever you want. We don't have to do anything at all." He said, sitting on the bed beside her and looking down at her stomach, which was rising and falling slowly. "We can sit here, or I can sit in my dorm and you can be you-"
"I want to be with you." She said lightly.
"Alright," Taeil said, laying so his body stretched beside hers and his face was still angled towards hers. "So you and I can just hang out here in the apartment-"
