And no matter how much Yunji hated him, Jisung always found a way to be right beside her all. the. time.

Like now for example- in class 3-B, 3rd row, middle seats, they sat side by side.

Unfortunately attending a liberal arts high school did not exempt all the dancers, singers, and artists from 'regular' lessons. After all, all high schoolers required an academic certificate to graduate. Therefore, although their class time and amount of subjects were reduced to the most basic, such as Korean, maths, and English, they still had to work their assess off over textbooks.

Yunji had managed to avoid being in the same class as Jisung for two whole years, but this school year just happened to give her bad luck as they both got put in class 3-B. What was worse, despite their publicly bad relationship, their homeroom teacher had decided to sit them beside each other. The only mercy that Yunji had encountered was that the seats in their classroom were single, otherwise, she would've surely had to sit at a desk with him.

Currently, they were having their history lesson, and to say the least, the atmosphere in the class was that of pure boredom. The teacher's monotone voice was able to put even the most hyperactive kids to sleep. And no matter how seriously Yunji usually took her education, she found herself zoning out with her pencil doodling on the open notebook.

Suddenly, due to her inattentiveness, the pencil managed to slip out of the girl's hand, fall to the floor, and roll away. This caught her attention, as her eyes followed the object's trajectory up until the moment it hit the foot of a desk. Looking up she realized just whose desk it had hit, and she managed to internally roll her eyes. Although the pencil was definitely within her reach, she would awkwardly have to bend over and grab it, or worse, even get up, thus she tried the other, arguably more annoying way of getting it back.

The history teacher in particular had a very strict no-talking policy in his class. Thus, Yunji had to wait for him to turn around to write something on the board before she could lean over and whisper "pst" to get Jisung's attention.

"Hey," Yunji exclaimed quietly as he turned to her with bored eyes. She then pointed to the ground between them where her pencil lay. "Can you get it for me?"

Jisung stared at her for a short minute, watching as her eyes fluttered between him, the pencil, and the teacher's back. A small, mischievous smirk appeared on his face as he nodded his head. He then made a show of leaning down to be able to see the pencil and poking at it with the sole of his shoe. Then, as he attempted to roll it toward his hand, it suddenly flew in the completely wrong direction, and the pencil ended up rolling under his chair and to the other end of the classroom.

As Yunji looked at him in horror, Jisung looked up with a fake-shocked expression and quietly uttered "Oops."

At that moment, she wished she had her pointe shoes on. She would've squashed him like the little bug he was right on the spot.

However, Yunji simply looked away and took a very deep breath. As usual, she would be mature about this. No matter how much he'd try to get under her skin, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her mad.

Realizing that it was once again time to jot down notes, Yunji reached into her pencil case to look for a different pen or pencil. But then she remembered that she'd given her pen to the girl sitting behind her, and her other pencil had been missing for weeks after Sumi had borrowed it.

The string to the bomb in her mind had been ignited.

With a small smile, she once again turned to her left to find Jisung sitting there, also looking back at her. The teacher once again wasn't paying attention, so she began whispering.

"Hey, can I borrow a pen or pencil?" She asked as politely as she could in that very moment, but her words came off as very superficial.

"Why?" Jisung retorted, mimicking her smile and voice.

"Cause you just kicked away my only one, jerk." Her voice didn't even waver as she smiled even wider.

"I hope it's not voices I'm hearing back there." The teacher warned loudly, and Yunji and Jisung remained silent for a couple of moments before she turned back to him once again.

"Just go pick it up. Is it that difficult?" The boy's expression was shaking visibly because of the laughter he was trying to hold in.

"You were the one who kicked it away, you should go get it." Yunji's voice was unintentionally increasing in volume, and her irritation amused him even further.

"Oh, but I'd hate to lose out on the content we're covering. I love Korean history."

"Go pick it up whilst I'm being nice." At this point, she was gritting her teeth, and her classmates had started to look over to check the commotion.

"What are you going to do to me if I don't, princess?" Jisung responded, his eyes narrowing.

"You really want to know? I'll kick you off the goddamn rooftop if you don't-"

"Han Yunji and Park Jisung! Have I or have not made it clear that there is absolutely no speaking in my class?" The teacher's voice boomed over hers, and Yunji turned her head to find him and the entire class staring at them.

"Sir, I'm so sorry, I-"

"No apologizing! You're clearly not sorry since you ignored my first warning! Now, both of you, out of my class!" He angrily pointed towards the door.

Yunji was about to retaliate, however, she paused as she watched Jisung obediently get up and walk out of the classroom with his hands shoved in his pockets. With how the teacher was staring at her, reluctantly Yunji got up to do the same.

"I better see you both kneeling with your hands up when I get out there!" He yelled after her as the girl got out and shut the door behind her. As she glanced beside her, Jisung was already on his knees, carrying out his punishment.

He turned to her and smirked. "So, about throwing me off the rooftop-"

"Ugh, just shut up." Yunji rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "It's your fault we got kicked out of the classroom."

"Think what you like princess, but you were the one yelling." He retorted playfully, and you could almost see the flames emerging in her eyes.

"Quit calling me princess or I will actually throw you off-"

"Maybe it's just cause I'm on the floor, but your skirt looks awfully short from here." He cut her off, the smirk persevering.

Yunji's face went red as Jisung maintained intense eye contact, not once glancing away. Clearly, his statement didn't make sense, as he wasn't even looking. But the girl was somehow deceived into taking action, so she hurriedly kneeled down, using her hands to keep her skirt from flying up. Now looking away, she muttered, "My legs are just long."

"Mhm." Jisung hummed, trying not to laugh at how flustered she was.

And as Yunji raised her arms, she couldn't help but clench her fists tightly, wishing to be able to dispose of them in his face instead.
